Seriously? C'mon guys- this site used to be a home for people to find out about actual rumors and now everyday it's "this random restaurant chain with 10 locations now accepts apple pay" or some BS photo that you claim is likely fake but still decide to post (multiple new 4-inch iphone articles) and now this? Can we get back to things that are actually interesting/relevant/real? Thanks.

"In related news, Samsung has announced they are well into production of a V10 Engine, suitable for use by Ford, GM, and Chrysler."

Very slow "news" day.

Look at the map (according to the original AppleInsider article about the property, it's 120 San Gabriel Dr.). The property (and adjoining residential neighborhood) is bounded on the north by Central Expressway. Six-lane N. Wolfe Rd. is just to the east. Could it be street noise echoing off the buildings?

It's really difficult to read between the lines in AppleInsider's report - did the neighbor complain specifically about Apple? Did they contact the local police, and did the police investigate? Why make a vague, "Kids are revving their engines" complaint (that nobody pays attention to) when you can get far more attention this way?

I had a neighbor file noise complaints against me, many years ago. They claimed that my expertise in audio meant I was "beaming noises" directly at them, noises that only they could hear, and only when the police were not present. I happened to be out of town for a month (and nobody was apartment-sitting).

If  does indeed make a vehicle, it will be overpriced like all their products.

KIA and HYAUNDIA quality, with features of a low-end FORD and GM, at the price of a BENZ, BMW, or even possibly a MASERATI.

Margins baby, it's all about margins.

Do you troll auto-industry sites as well? Do people actually engage you in conversation?, or simply tell you to get a dictionary and then block you...

It could be a generator, or cement mixers, or some other kind of motorized commercial contrivance?

I really seriously and totally/completely doubt that the New Apple Car would be able to be heard over trees and streets...

Unless they are building a Lambo competitor...

What if I told you, Samsung charges just as much for a Korean product that competes directly with the iPhone. Just cause samsung has a piece of crap that starts at a really low price that no one buys doesn't mean they're cheaper. The S6 and Edge cost just as much as an iPhone.

Can we have an alternate Macrumors that is identical in every way to this one but with out the annoying car rumours? Just. Don't. Care.

Update: Following an exhaustive investigation by Sunnyvale police, the "loud motor" noise turned out to be a member of the janitorial staff who had a bad case of burrito tummy. When questioned, the janitor mentioned he had two large Chipotle burritos with guacamole. The janitor said to the officer, "I shouldn't have gotten the guacamole." Concerned, the officer asked if the janitor thought the guacamole was the cause of his intestinal distress. Dismissively, the janitor looked at the officer and said, "Pssh, I just farted. But Chipotle... {mad face} at Chipotle guacamole cost extra."

Here all week folks. Don't forget to tip the waitstaff.

My opinion may lack the humbleness it should have, but I think this is a much better story than one about a car noise at night.

There continues to be no confirmed link between Apple and SixtyEight Research, or clear evidence that Apple is using the facility for its Apple Car development, but Apple has plans to build a 10-foot security fence around the area to hide its activity.

Thwarted by this:

Well so much for the rumor of an electric car. Motor noises? Maybe they are going after the lux or sport car market. Watch out Ferrarri, Lambo and Porsche!!!

I am still not convinced they are working on a actual physical car but software for an autonomous car that they have to TEST on a real car.

I have been thinking the same thing. But judging by the adoption rate of CarPlay into current cars, and Apple's seemingly inability to contract a deal, it might not be likely. Might as well build your own. Only time will tell.

Or it's a really good sound system playing engine noises just to screw with people and generate news stories like this one... :)
