Just like a Samsung, right? 🙄This is how it should have been from the start.
No, keep it as is, but also give us options if we didn't like it.Just like a Samsung, right? 🙄
Thats....thats a display cut out. There is no screen there. Now let us deactivate the dynamic island
Nope. Didn’t miss anything. No, keep it as is, but also give us options if we didn't like it.
You kinda missed the whole point...![]()
This 100%.That's a shame. They had it right to begin with, and did it better. I don't like seeing them kowtowing to users whose only feedback is "AHHH DIFFERENT MY ONLY POINT OF REFERENCE IS ANDROID SO THATS HOW IT MUST BEEEEEEE."
Nope. Didn’t miss anything.
Still missing the point, there is nothing changing, it will still be the original idea if you choose to, all that is happening is we are getting the option to disable some features, what is the harm in that logic? This 100%.
I find the music player animation very distracting, I’d like to have no animation happening there while I’m listening to music, we don’t need dynamic island to control music players, we did so before and we do it now by actioning the notification centerThats....thats a display cut out. Swipe left or right on it and it'll disappear, problem solved.I find the music player animation very distracting, I’d like to have no animation happening there while I’m listening to music, we don’t need dynamic island to control music players, we did so before and we do it now by actioning the notification center

That is until I open another app or two, then the music player animation on the dynamic island appears again :/Swipe left or right on it and it'll disappear, problem solved.
Curious: what about the experience do you not enjoy? That's what I'll be doing once released, I tried AOD for 1 day and turned it off, I didn't enjoy the experience.
Having a dim screen wasn't my cup of tea, kept my anxiety too high, and kept thinking my screen was on when it was just AOD, I would prefer a blank/off wallpaper with time and widgets to display only, but not sure about notifications, I'll have to see how that's going to work, having the option in general to disable or enable features is better in general for me.Curious: what about the experience do you not enjoy?
I don't mind the aesthetic, so much. But do think I'll also appreciate the option of just the time and widget info. I'll have to see it in action to know for sure. For me, the overall layout and widget potentials are more limited than what I'd prefer. But theta's pretty Apple. Expect that aspect to open up, slowly, over time.
I never looked into Android AOD. Until, of course, Apple offered it and it was listed as yet another thing Apple copied from Android. THEN I google Android AOD’s, and…That's a shame. To preface: My first smartphone was an iphone all the way back in Uni. Then I only had androids. and the 14 is the first time I changed back.I never looked into Android AOD. I mean… I guess part of the display is always on? Not having ever looked into it I’d assumed that the “display” was “always on”, more like what Apple has on the watch and the iPhone. So, Apple’s going to have to reduce their feature to what some folks have always expected it to mean.

I can get on board with the silent mode indicator as well. Can't believe it. They do really listen.
It took them 5 years to fix the battery icon, and now it took them only 1 month to fix the AOD on iPhone.
Next, Apple, please, put a permanent silent mode indicator on the screen. I'm tired of missing calls occasionally. Fix this issue finally.
