So tempted to get this last black 7 left.....I know I would keep thinking about the plus though. ugh.
[doublepost=1474086593][/doublepost]Well now we don't know if it's local, pacific or 8am or what.

Saw all the pictures taken by the media at various Apple stores around the US. Other than the big stores in New York and Los Angeles, there were very few people in line. Surprisingly little interest in the new iPhone 7, other than some of the faithful. Now more than ever all the hype about sold out models seems a bit exaggerated.

Worse under Jobs a couple times. People conveniently don't want to remember that, though.

True, I can remember that in the Netherlands it took months before the 3 and 4 series became available after launch..
Yesterday when to look for Apple Watch s2 but almost fully sold out. Had a little play with iPhone 7, but as iPhone 6 user I will wait for what 7s or 8 has to offer.

How many times are you going to restate your assumption in this thread? You do realize the sheer volume of people on these boards alone that haven't gotten the pre-orders they placed just minutes after they went live right? I don't know what your purpose is, trying to convince a bunch of people eager to get their iphone 7s that no one wants one.

Sharing an observation sure seems to be upsetting you. I've participated in every iPhone launch, this one's rather dismal.

My wife works for an Apple component supplier. Let me tell you, Apple is very picky about what they will accept. They put a lot more effort into manufacturing a quality device than others do. Because of that, they may have component shortages that lead to inventory shortages on launch day. And her company is already sampling parts for the 2018 phone.

Just in the last few days, you've jumped on every thread you could find posting your grievances with the iphone 7. We get it, you don't like it. And based on actual evidence, your observational skills seem incredibly weak.

Posting observations and sharing opinions are what a forum is for. No need to be so sensitive.

Reserved at 12:05am PST, iPhone 7 Plus 128 in Gold. Got a reservation for 6pm at my local Apple Store. Stood in line for almost an hour, at one point an employee scanned my email QR code. Told me the phone is here. Went into the store and was told "due to a shipment error, your phone isn't here". They offered to take my information and "we will call you tomorrow if we can get you another phone". And they gave me a free leather case.

iPhone upgrade program, my butt.

Yeah, I'm with you on this. Haven't seen other 7's in the Wild yet, but that's not one of the prettier ones.

The OCD in me would be constantly staring at the wrong side of the phone. And a case wouldn't address the situation either.

I'd be forced to return it, and I would; even if it meant walking out of the Apple Store Today without a phone. If it's not the 128GB model, you may get lucky. The artificially created shortages have not affected the 4.7" versions as much as the bigger model.

Take it back.

Great pictures by the way. I could see the issue even in the low res thumbnails.

Hey,

managed to get one on sep. 20th. hope they stick to it :) and I hope that the quality of this one is better !

At least you got a case. First time I have heard of someone getting something for being turned away

What's the deal with Denmark?

That's just the one shop. Still ****ing hilarious.

A few other shops opened with breakfast and coffee a few hours prior to the official release, they were well visited. Other than that, the shops opened per usual and most shops were queued up a little. Not as much as previous releases though.

Apple needs to start manufacturing new iPhones a couple of month earlier, delay launch a couple of months, or do away with stocking iPhones in the Apple stores altogether since you have to order them online. What they think is a good marketing plan just makes customers furious!

In terms of customer experience this launch is pretty abysmal.

I got in on the pre-order early and immediately my JB7+ wasn't going to ship till late October on AT&T.

Don't say you have product for sale if you actually don't. That's 3 years in a row Apple has ****ed up the launch of the Plus models due to extremely constrained supply.

How about aligning actual availability with the launch date.

And forget Apple Watch Series 2. LOL. May as well said release was in October rather than ********ting customers.

Please don't make sense here.

I will never understand people complaining just because they have to wait (seems to be a lost art) is a fine phone, but not a must have when you have a 6 or 6S.

When the iPhone was hot, I would just regularly stop by ATT and ask if they had my model. Eventually they did and I still buy that way when I get a new iPhone.

I'm sure it will be :)

Still no luck for T-Mobile customers wanting to join the Upgrade Program. I checked the website, the Apple Store App, and the reservation link above.

The reservation link gives a bit more insight. It seems that one can't make reservations for the Portland Store but can for the Tigard store a few miles away. And one can reserve for all of the carriers except T-Mobile.

This still seems to be an Apple issue. Take my deposit. Put my name in a list. E-mail me when the hardware arrives. But maybe there's more to the story. Let's say I go to Tigard and they have a phone on the shelf (some lonely Gold 256 model.) Would I be able to join the Upgrade Program as a T-Mobile customer in store with the in stock phone? Apple says that's possible, but my gut tells me that I'd be told, "No." And that's probably the root of the problem. Apple and T-Mobile have a contract dispute. And Apple is kicking the ball down the road by saying, "You have to buy iPhone 7 stock from the store", knowing that virtually no stock is available.

So Apple, don't lie about the program being available in store. I already drove there once based on bad info from the 800 number.

And T-Mobile, stop being petulant and sign the contract that the other carriers signed.

Not sure what you mean. Went to bridgeport yesterday at 130. Got a 128 black 7+, same as my reservation. Was back to work by 155. This was using IUP

Thats why I like Apple even if it means I get to wait a couple of weeks. :apple:

What the hell is going on with in store availability? The lack of inventory might be the worst of any iPhone launch in recent memory.

Well, they lowered their forecast numbers for a reason. This is a good strategy to hype up low demand.

Also, Angel who makes the big bucks does under stand apple, and doesn't like lines. She is teaching customers a lesson!

Or you know they are probably prioritizing the online pre-orders since they are already paid and thats the way it should be.

In my case, I'm not in the Upgrade Program. I'm a T-Mobile subscriber with a dying iPhone 5. I want to reserve a phone and sign up for the Upgrade Program for the first time. Can't switch from T-Mobile since no other carrier delivers a good signal at my house.

I'm in the iPhone black hole. Can't reserve a T-Mobile phone on a first-time Upgrade Program. Can't reserve for store pickup. 800-MY-APPLE told me I could only sign up for a new T-Mobile Upgrade Program at the store, so I drove to Portland. The store said I can only sign up when buying a phone from stock. It seems that I have to wait for a store to have open stock. But even with stock, can they actually sign me up?

If any T-Mobile use has signed up as a first-timer on the Upgrade Program with an iPhone 7, let me know.
[doublepost=1474133089][/doublepost]I just did an Apple chat with sales. First, they told me to go to the store. I replied that I already did. They then said I'd have to wait for stock with no reservations available. I then told them I didn't believe that the Program was available for new T-Mobile sign ups and to be straight with me. They said that there's no problem with the program. I just need to wait for stock.

We will see...

I don't disagree. Those guys are locked in customers. Apple never needs to innovate again, and can ride off those guys because they have have guaranteed customers! So give those people their phones first :)

Next up, iphones that only work with Apple approved content and Apple approved websites. It's called courage.

WTF. Earlier today changed to preparing for shipment and switch back to processing the order
