The fact you guys fall for these stupid rumors as if they are facts, both claiming the release day and the delay date, when Apple hasn’t announced anything is funny.
My eyes aren't what they used to be so maybe I missed it but the title never specifically says it's delayed.

Makes me wonder how they are deciding what to do (or not do).
Pretty much everyone in the world knew that launching a VR headset necessitated some form of gaming narrative to have any chance of success.
What does Apple do?
Launch Vision Pro with no controllers and no way to add any, and game devs who liked the hardware were basically "out" right away..
About 5 mins or market research and outreach could have told them they were launching a flop.
Now 2 years later ... umm .. "here's some Playstation VR controllers for nearly the price of an ENTIRE Quest VR headset."

how do we know that internally Apple targeted 2026 this whole time and will have to potentially settle for 2027?
either way, we don’t REALLY know when they planned to release it and can only go off of rumors.

You're only falling behind if you're missing out on revenue at this point. There's no proprietary technology preventing Apple from releasing a phone equal to any of their competition when the time comes - there's not much to gain from being first unless you've actually created a new paradigm and disrupted an industry and caught everyone else flat footed. That hasn't happened in the smartphone arena for nearly two decades.
It makes sense Apple steps to ensure the fold iphone has the best quality. Samsung is still improving creases on the hinge of their fold phone. Their recent fold phone still has crease issue on the hinge. Better late on releasing high quality product than releasing product sooner with some quality problems. Patience is a virtue.
The launch of Apple's first foldable iPhone could be delayed to 2027, according to Japan's Mizuho Securities (via The Elec).
The investment banking and securities firm suggested that a potential postponement could be due to Apple taking longer to decide on key design elements such as the hinge. The device is expected to feature a 7.58-inch inner display and a 5.38-inch outer display.
The report added that expected production of display panels for the foldable iPhone have now decreased from 13 million to nine million units. A launch in 2026 is still said to be possible, but if it goes ahead as planned, device production in the first year of release may lag behind panel production by as much as five to seven million units.
The firm corroborated reports that Apple plans to delay the launch of the iPhone 18 to the spring of 2027, launching alongside the iPhone 18e. The iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max are scheduled to launch in the fall of 2026, likely alongside the first foldable iPhone if it is not delayed.
Further in the future, Apple is apparently developing new technology for the iPhone 19 lineup, treating the model as a special release due to it falling upon the 20th anniversary of the iPhone. Moreover, Apple will apparently reduce the price of the second foldable iPhone, which will likely launch in the fall of 2027 if the first model isn't delayed.
Mizuho Securities also noted that there is now movement in the supply chain to resume work on a 18.9-inch foldable MacBook for release around 2028 or 2029 at the earliest.

I have no problem with rumour and speculation. As you say, that's what this site is named for. I just mean that if it was never official in the first place, is more of an updated rumour than a delay.
Delayed. Not delayed. Happening. Not happening. Gotta love rumors. Summary: when the foldable product is released start a rumor that sales were bad. Or good. Or change on a daily basis. 🤣

Ohh I forgot Kuo did mention the dimensions back in March of this year. With a 5.5 inch outer display this phone will be Mini small. The 7.8 inch unfolded display will be nice and I would probably keep the phone unfolded than folded a lot times. I would only fold the phone to fit in my pocket of course. Kuo hasn’t mentioned any delays yet so fingers crossed that this doesn’t get delayed until 2027 iPhone 20th anniversary.
