Launch of Apple's First Foldable iPhone Could Be Delayed

Some people said the Air would be a test to see how the design works for foldables. I wonder if come 2027 the demand will still be there? Perhaps the lacklustre air sales could mean they axe this like the iPod which never seen light of day and the cheaper Vision Pro also axed?

So the big question is will the fold be axed and even the Air too??

Maybe poor Vision Pro and Air sales are making Apple executives nervous. This may be leading to further examination of the price they plan to charge and how they can reduce the price to make it more attractive. They don’t want a third sales flop in a row so it’s better to delay the release to see what can be done to avoid that.

With all the recent rumors, I tend to believe that it will come out in 2026, unless Apple plans to have the foldable as the 20th anniversary special. Not happy hearing about even smaller screen size. Wonder how much the price will reduce for the second generation and think there will not be a price reduction as I expect the price to be $1999. If at all it launches at $2299 or even $2499, then the second generation will definitely be $1999.

A foldable MacBook is interesting. No doubt it will be costly. Even $3999 is possible.

A big leaker like Gurman for example who said the M5 iPad Pro would have 2 cameras on the front recently? Dude couldn't even nail a product about to be released.

Nothing to say it wasn’t planned but apple went against it last minute.

The source in this article has zero track record and isn’t even clear. One hand says maybe 2027 then saying 2026 with limited volume. They are purely guessing nothing more

I got the Samsung Flip 7 last week, my first non-iPhone since the 3G. I am beyond impressed with it and so glad I didn't keep waiting for Apple to do their foldable. It does so many things I didn't realize the iPhone just didn't - I don't understand why Apple hasn't implemented some of these things. It's bizarre. It's like they have no R&D or something, but I know that's impossible. It's literally insane to me how badly Apple has handled their most important product.
