You are correct.
Maybe it's just me, but does anyone think they might drop the "MacBook" Line for an expanded MacBook Pro line with a 13.3" option and then something new as the entry level notebook?
Currently the low end MBP and high end MB use the same 2.4GHz T8300 Processor. Why not merge the MB/MBP for a unified aluminum casing as your everything laptop (not your companion like the MBA) and come out with something new in the $1000-1100 range. It just does not seem like Apple to have a line of 3 laptops targeted at 3 different demographics that all look very similar. To a degree, it is a status thing to have a MBP vs a MB. Many of us would like to have a MBP (power wise) but in a smaller case. I just dont see Apple sending out their entry level notebook in the same casing as their high end notebook.
With all this 'glass trackpad' talk, that just does not seem to run consistent with an aluminum casing. I think that would look really awkward. Ive got my money on an updated line of MBP's in a 13, 15, and 17 screen sizes and something new for the MB, maybe with this glass trackpad and new chipset apple has been talking about.
I doubt that the names will change. MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and MacBook will stick.I have to agree, however I think they will drop the PRO name and offer macbooks of different screen sizes and raw power. I believe they will have 3 lines, macbook air, macbook, and macbook venus (tablet).
I actually wish they'd do white, black and aluminum for the macbook pros, then I could get a white one to go with my iPhone. If it's gonna be aluminum, I'm glad I got the last generation of whites, matches my white iphone.![]()

Whys that? Apple said they are ditching ALL plastic by the end of 2008 to make room for aluminum and glass. Much more eco friendly AKA "Green"
Look at the iMac. The 2007 revision is the best looking one they ever made. Got rid of the plastic white. Times are changing. Apple is to. (How many of you were complaning when apple ditched the rainbow logo?) I just dont understand why people arte getting so worked up over a logo that they dont know if its off centered or what or that its no longer in plastic. I'm sure apple wants to create consistency here not have a ton of different models with different cases and looks. Cuts down on production costs and they need to make one certain case. The Macbook air and the macbook are prety much the same, they fit in to the everyday user category. Hence will share a imler case. The pro may see something a bit diferent because its aimed at pro users. I wouldnt be surprised if the pro will look a bit like a mobile imac.
I'm still complaining about that.(How many of you were complaning when apple ditched the rainbow logo?)

Please. apple.pro is NOT a Chinese site. It is a TAIWAN site.
There will always be a pro and a consumer line. They will not merge them.
They need to do something with the macbook pro. Right now the pro line is pathetic. UPGRADES UPGRADES UPGRADES
To everyone saying the MacBook lettering is off-center: I understand your concern, but it's really hard to draw (literally) conclusions because of perspective. The screen isn't placed flat-out in front of you.
