The camera lenses and such on the back are really getting out of hand.
It's almost a $1,000 Monty Python skit.....
least it’s not going to look like the ultra...

the same can be said for Touch ID which to me worked much faster and better. There are many situations where faceid isn't wonderful. only great when using the phone directly in front of your face. It’s interesting to read ‘the notch’ comments on sites like this, but outside the tech world, for anyone that’s owned the latest iPhones with a notch, I’ve never heard it mentioned by anyone. Simply because consumers probably don’t care and they see the greater picture of how convenient face ID is, which overrides the aesthetic of a ‘cut out’ at the top of the display. If Apple decides to minimize it, so be it, but it’s never been an issue affecting the iPhone anyway whatsoever.
really only should matter to people that go case less
I love the notch, i’m pretty happy to see it still in iPhone 12 design! Smaller is better for sure, maybe more space for control center/system icons.
BTW I don’t like idea of widget in home screen, I would be more iOS/clean to have them only in one page as it is now.

Now if only they could get the rear cameras to sit flush again. That is my only issue with the 11.
It's far easier to put a high quality camera in a smartphone because you have a lot more thickness available. Trying to physically fit a large sensor (and appropriate optics) in a few mm thick screen enclosure will be a huge technical challenge that will no doubt be addressed in the future.I just want 1080p video on my $1800 MacBook.
Absolutely ridiculous they can put 4K 60FPS on the front facing camera of a $700 smartphone (iPhone 11), and can’t put 1080p in a top of the line $1800 MacBook.
the iPhone is already perfect now, otherwise apple wouldnt release it. In fact, I would say its not thin enough. iPhone has always been about thinness and how cool it looks.I know more people without cases than with. If the phone was ugly like the 6 than I’d hide it, but it’s too good looking to hide away. Probably the best looking iPhone since the 4/4S. The camera bump just seems lazy. I’m sure there are challenges with it meeting the thinness demands. But it spoils what could have been a perfect device.

You "love" the notch? Please specify what it is, that you love.

Pretty much. Oversimplified, more resolution requires a larger sensor for all else to be equal, which requires a bigger gap between it and the lens for all else to be equal (i.e. it's thicker). Unless you want a camera bump on your MacBook screen (or a 1080p camera with tiny pixels and extremely poor low light results) this is as good as it gets.I guess the lid is too thin to host a better camera. Phones are thicker, so the selfie camera can be high quality.
Even the 16'' MBP has the same 720p camera, so I don't think it is a matter of containing costs, they could afford 1080p or even better camera if they could manage to put them into the lid. But either they make the lid thicker, for this sole reason, or they design it with some sort of bump in the middle to have more room for the camera. I wouldn't say no to the latter, would look weird maybe but with more and more remote calls being made these days having a better camera would help.
I'm not sure how I would feel about that. Live Tiles was visual cacophony, with too much happening everywhere. It was visual overload. If Apple found a way to streamline it and reduce the visual clutter, then it might be useful. The 'widgets' remind me a bit of Windows Phone's live tiles, which was actually quite a nice balance between organised and dynamic. Looking forward to this feature if legit!
