Some people enjoy the Kardashians, doesn’t mean others can’t point out how stupid they are.

Liking the Kardashians is 1 thing. Being obsessed with them and thinking they’re historical / inspirational figures is a whole other thing.

Different strokes for different folks.

Seriously. The Apple Card isn't the first metal credit card. I've got two in my wallet right now.

People are just obsessed with hating Apple. Idk what it is. A site like MacRumors would be nice if it was filled with people who actually like Apple. It’s ok to criticize and critique, but man... These comments are painful. You would think Tim Cook flipped these dudes worlds upside down.

I would hate to live my life looking at the negative in literally everything. Sucks.

I hope they don't move the card's requirements to iOS 13. My iPhone 6 is stuck on 12. I have a bad feeling they will push it to iOS 13.

I have the top offenders on ignore, it makes things much more pleasant here. Unfortunately, the ignore list seems to be limited to around 600 entries :(

Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God, it even has a watermark…

Anybody else think this white credit card is going to look terrible and dirty after only a relatively short amount of time?

Scam. Marketing tool.

Everyone will get very low credit limits.
That limits the risk for them.

Then, they will data-dive your activity.

This is a cost/benefit analysis tool to get more info and marketing.

Run. From. This.

Lmao this is not true. It’s an Apple credit card, but it’s not an AMEX Black Card. Apple wants it in as many hands as possible. It won’t be super hard to be approved.

Really? Did you really think this through?

Apple won’t be on the hook at the end of the day if a card holder defaults—it will be the financial institution. And if Apple wants this to be a status symbol as sorts, there won’t be a huge pool that will at least initially get this card. Maybe later, maybe not.

The LMAO isn’t necessary, dude. One can speculate without the hyperbole.

Could be; maybe the same people who never wipe off their iPhone or clean their Airpods either.

Hygiene is just not some people’s biggest strength. Makes for some rather uncomfortable conversations for the HR dept. occasionally

Goldman will likely use well-known underwriting standards to keep their bad debts at the desired level, i.e. not too high but not too low, either. Apple won’t be involved with setting those guidelines.

Also, this card isn’t meant to be any more exclusive or upscale than iPhone, and Apple certainly wants it in as many hands as possible. Limits will depend on credit score, income and very likely, the limits on your other credit cards. Maybe other factors too, it’s way too soon to know.

Yes I thought it through. An “impeccable” credit score implies that it has to be perfect in order to get this card. It’s just simply not true. If that was the case then very few people could get it....

The iPhone is a status symbol, but it’s still easily accessible. Even someone with amazing credit can default on their card. It can happen regardless if someone has a 600 score or an 800 score.

If people are getting approved for $1K limits they either have very little credit history or a not so “impeccable” credit report.

People are dis-gus-ting.

What about when a merchant needs to manually enter the card number? I've had times where they entered the number manually on the front of the card; either because the swiper is down or for other reasons.
Those details are available on your phone but yes if you’re phone’s dead then you’re out of options

There are a lot of people that like Apple but negatively critique it. That’s great you are an optimist, but there is always room for cynics and pessimists. If it weren’t for the latter, things wouldn’t be improving as well. We need them all for balance.

If this forum was only of positive Apple lovers, it’d die pretty quick.

The first time this gets slid into a Chip and Pin or swiped, it'll probably be ruined.

Cue the threads asking fellow users how they clean their Apple Card.

So you're out for dinner with a group of friends. Split the check. Server takes everyone's cards.

How do you know you get your own card back?

(oh yeah, "Mine's the plain silver one")

Edit: Apparently your name will be on it. Thanks to those who pointed that out.

I don’t know why I laughed so hard on this.. :D

That's a legal requirement. Apple had no choice. They did have a choice to not allow authorisation by PIN but signature only, whilst simultaneously not allowing for a signature or CVV to be displayed on the physical card. So enjoy opening your app and copying down numbers when Apple Pay isn't supported, or carrying a second card as backup.

Why are you so worried on the thing you don’t intend to use?

Google People calling in to law enforcement for customers trying to use 2 dollar bills

https://******.com/?q=2+dollar+bill+called+cops

Some genius WILL have that happen

Who cares?

There's a strong legal difference between staff being too lazy to actually check the signature, and there being no signature in the first place to check.

But so long as you only shop at stores where the owners are prepared to accept personal responsibility for fraudulent transactions with no insurance for losses incurred then you'll be fine.

LMAO

(No doubt getting your information from Android forums?)

True, but the overwhelming majority of posts on MR seem to be negative. Yes I’m an optimist and am generally positive, but I critique when necessary. There’s a lot of negative comments on here that are laughable.

It would be nice if there was a balance, but it really leans heavily to 1 side.

So is this basically a credit card? So if I wanted to buy the Apple Watch SS I can use this card and pay off monthly for example?

Lmao. I’m going to laugh so hard when I see someone using this. Especially those who think they are better by having a heavy and shiny credit card. Lols on lols apple.
