Is there nothing left we won't know about next Tuesday??
Tim Cook doubled down on privacy and actually made some good progress in the supply chain and manufacturing side of things, but then Apple accidentally leaked everything else themselves. Go figure.

One thing we don't yet know: Will it cost to upgrade iTunes movies to 4K, and if so, how much?

Here is the revised AirPod. Note the small dot on the front—either a charging LED or I think it could be a tiny speaker that you can use to locate it it easier if you lose it? I wonder if they've improved anything internally such as the battery life or have a W2 chip.

I bet they moved the charging LED from under the hood to the front.

The original Macintosh changed the world of computing forever. The next version of iOS kills 32 bit apps, has no headphone jack, and has no soul unlike the original Mac.
I don't get it.

- carbon/ppc apps no longer work on my mac
- headphone jack needed to go. i'm glad actually. i never experience headphones or phones dropping ever again due to wires
- soul?

All I care for is if it's save to upgrade to iOS 11 GM when it gets officially released.

That way there won't be gasps when that notch phone is brought out.

If this is Apple's reason for doing so, that proves they know the notch is a crap design.

The notch continues to bother me. I don't see why they couldn't have kept the camera and speaker in a little 5mm high bar and had a holistic rectangle for the screen. The notch is not a design distinction; it's dumpy.

Will you be able to touch the parts of the screen to the sides of the notch?

Gestures at the top of the screen now become weird. Titlebars float beneath the notch.

If they wanted to clean up the status bar, they could have done so without needing to notch it.

Notch design = crap design.

Some of the wallpapers have just an object in them. What if the wallpapers used force touch and colour behind the object clears and its an ARKit 3D model of the object. It could act like training wheels for general consumers to get behind the ARKit technology. It would also be pretty handy for when your out with friends, you could quickly demo the technology straight from your locked screen for friends...

Here are the links to the wallpapers as zips that I put up on my cloud if people want to quickly download them all:

iPad: http://aduke.co/iizbBK

Interesting that the iPhone wallpapers are now square. They're also 1634px tall so I guess we're not getting @3X retina resolution after all? Seems a shame that the iPhone Plus would have a higher resolution than the iPhone Edition. Weird.

I bet they moved the charging LED from under the hood to the front.
I kind of prefer it inside. It's like a little night light in there that allows me to easily grab or seat my AirPods in the proper orientation in the dark. I also hope a black version is found in these leaks, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

View attachment 716500 Interesting that the night-time satellite image shows a hurricane hitting Florida. It's obviously an older photo, but remarkable regardless
I think that's hurricane Matthew from last year? Skirted by Florida doing some damage and then made landfall in South Carolina. TBH I feel kinda silly gushing over these leaks tonight when so many people are about to get wrecked down in Florida and are still recovering in Texas and Mexico. Such is life, I suppose: cycles suffering and happiness.

Just a thought.....since Continuity can unlock your Mac with your Watch, which is authenticated as long as you keep it on, why not allow it to unlock your iPhone as well? This might make the lack of TouchID a non-issue.

If they have come up with a slick way to implement it, it could be the difference maker between the 7s and the 8/X/Edition for me.
I've thought about this recently since getting my first 5K iMac capable of this feature earlier this summer—but the iPhone is more mobile and likely to be picked up by an unintended user. Would be a great option to enable, but it should only work in closer proximity. At the least it would give a message on the Apple Watch letting them know someone unlocked their iPhone. But it would be extra secure if it used that and the face unlock as an option, so we'll see.

Not sure if it would be a non-issue though since many people don't have Apple Watch, but I'd say a much higher percentage of iPhone Edition buyers would have Apple Watch than those of other Touch ID capable iPhone models. And if face unlock is as great as it should be, then none of this will really matter anyway, lol.
