Don't show those pics to Samsung - they'll copy it and so will everyone else. Dang leakers taking a leak on Apple's pure originality!

Apple forced the majority of us into the 64GB and 128GB right? Trust me Apple forces us to do what we don't want to do.

Since Apple allows no MicroSD or similar medium, and how there is no competition for an iOS device, then if one wants Apple one is effectively forced into it. The concept is called "walled garden", which most companies do or are migrating toward nowadays, especially with subscription plans to ensure money flows in while the need to work and even innovate is subdued... oh, wait, the rationale behind that is okay for workers by the companies but never when the company does it. Gotcha.

I keep reading the sentiment that a 1/8" adapter will cost $50-60. I can't see how an adapter would cost that much for an old cable for headphones. It's not like they are converting 30-pin to lightning, or lightning to hdmi it's just an 1/8" audio cable.
The adapter would need to have a DAC built in for 3.5mm headphones to work...or so I heard. Not sure how true that is. Hence the cost.

Yeah, but maybe it will only be $30 with Apple including it with every iPhone 7/7+, 7s/7s+ as a courtesy. The question is what happens if Apple changes to USB-C with the iPhone 8/8+? Rinse and repeat.

My assumption is if they move ahead with this lightning cable for headphones and charging then they would not make the move to USB-C. This is a complete assumption based on nothing ...well except USB-C = Less money for Apple. We know how Apple loves money so...

Nobody REALLY thinks it will be that much.
It is a sad attempt at a joke...
Since Apple charges like $29.99 for an iPhone charger, whereas Samsung only charges like $24.99, that makes it a fertile playground to greatly exaggerate & just make ludicrous statements like the whole $50 thing.

I think 64gb was in 2011 actually, on the 4s... though it may not have been initially available, now that I think of it.

I was going from memory, but I think you're right about 64 GB beging offered on the 4S in 2011.
