uhhhh this thing is open freakin' source

You can change the look of everything on it and there is no need to go through the Appstore unlike on the iPod unless you jailbreak it

No, I just think an MP3 player made in 2009 shouldn't look like it had its interface designed by a 3 year old.

Look how ugly the UI is.
Unlike Apple's locked-down OS, you can actually easily change the look and feel of the Android OS. It's also completely open source.

Perhaps somebody accidentally treated iPhone like a generic term, and this is the iPhone bezel in the same way that the repair guy from Canon is fixing the Xerox down the hall.

The homepage is always the most important thing to get right as it sells your product. Just as Microsoft looks bad not quite fitting "Marketplace" on the Zune HD.

And it should look good with the skin chosen by Creative when they showed it off.

The "Zii"?!

The "Zii"?! Are they trying to cash in on Nintendo's success? What is with these horrible product names? Zen was okay, but Zii? OMG, WTF, LOL and all that.

Zii

The Zii is gonna be sweet. It can do 1080p and has HDMI out. I'm glad it's running on Android. It's nice to see Creative finally coming out with something nice. :apple:

this is a slick device.

funny. now that theres a bunch of devices similar to the iphone in physical appearance there may be more mistakes or uncertainty about cases, etc.

That's not altered at all, it's base out-of-the-"box" Android- from what it seems Creative created a "Plasma" OS, but also wanted to show that it could run Android as well?

Which came first: Zii chicken or Zii Egg?

The whole chicken/egg debate is quite simple to answer. The egg came long before anything even remotely identifiable as a chicken-like creature.

Now, the chicken/*chicken egg* debate, is equally simple, but much less clear. The answer quite obviously depends on how you decide something is a 'chicken egg'. Is it a 'chicken egg' if it hatches a chicken, or if it is laid by one? In the former case, obviously the chicken egg came first. In the latter, obviously, the chicken came first.
:p

Maybe this will clear up a bit of the murky water.

I absolutely love the design of it. It's sleek, elegant, and unornamented. I hate this flashy, glossy, and gaudy design companies are slapping on their electronics now... I guess you have to appeal to the masses though. I'd rather my software be usable and consistent than shiny and over-appealing.
