You are correct, my statement leaves for this interpretation. This is a huge stretch. If someone robs you, does that mean you are associated with him?
If this is genuine then it is clearly a stolen item because for one thing, the massive list of sanctions against Russia due to Ukraine would prevent Apple from selling it's products in Russia.
As for where it could have come from, Apple would have produced a few hundred at least for PR and marketing purposes. Advertising companies around the world would have been given one so they can make TV and magazine adverts. Tech magazines around the world would have been given one so they can review it and have the written review ready to go when the product is released. These marketing macbooks would then be required to be returned to Apple to be repurposed. This website has proven that stuff Apple said was to be destroyed tends not to get destroyed because we see threads of prototypes or 'not for resale' appear in this site. Is it the case here maybe? the company tasked with destroying/repurposing these M4 pro macbooks did not do as they were told OR an employee sneaked one or a couple out so they could sell them? OR has one of the many companies/businesses given one of these M4 Pro's to review/take photo's for advertising not return it with and employee stealing it and now trying to sell it.
when you start it up it also comes up in Russian, as it has a US power supply and US product code it should start in US English with an option to change it to Russian.I think the amount of attention given to this alleged leak is irresponsible, even for a rumor site. The packaging is last year’s box, an obvious red flag. How do we know this isn’t the same Russian, seeking to profit - likely fraudulently, definitely illegally - from the rumor cycle he just generated? What’s to stop others from attempting to do the same in the future?
Why would the old box design show the new specs and serial on the back?I think it’s telling that these are in the same box as the old MacBook Pro’s. maybe that’s how they got out? For a new generation product you’d expect new graphics.
Apple is probably happy for the hype for hardware that is basically a tiny spec bump.Wondering why Apple is not locking those devices. Afraid of Streisand effect?
I'll take two iPhone 19 mini now, please.Next year I wanna buy an iPhone ( 17 iteration ) in July from a Russian
I’m ’ Russian’ 🤣🤘🏻
Certainly not. Hype is always there for every release, and in this case they have no control over it.Apple is probably happy for the hype for hardware that is basically a tiny spec bump.
Spec bump, mate. I should hope we get 16 GB of RAM in a computer that starts at €2,049 in Europe ($2,247). Keep in mind that AI will eat RAM, so while 8 GB wasn't enough before for a future-proofed MBP, 16 GB won't be enough for a future-proofed MBP going forward. Move the RAM and SSD up one step at this price jumps to €2,509 ($2,751). This is not the "M4 Pro" model we're talking. Good machine; sure, but let's keep our feet on the ground.A lot of you are barking up the wrong tree.
First this is a significant leak & significant upgrade. If Apple is keeping the price the same you are getting double the memory (should’ve been 16gb for the m3 from the start), an extra thunderbolt port (all of them are tb4 instead of USB 4), and they’ll support 2 external displays without having to close the lid.
The fact that the performance of this new model is the same as the unbinned M3 Pro is remarkable.
But complain if you must!
The silly comparison between this & Russia & the us elections is absurd.
I really wonder where this MacBook Pro is coming from. It is the biggest leak since the iPhone 4. Unfortunately, the M4 MacBook Pro is just a minor bump so nothing earth shattering compared to the iPhone 4. This is the biggest most underwhelming leak in history I guess
This could apply to any product on earth.Supply chain compromise?
Perhaps M4s will become listening or explosive devices?
