Marginal 20% spec bump. People acting like something important is happening.
intel hardly was able to give customers a 10% bump, while needing more and more power and the machines becoming hotter. 20% is not nothing, while at the same time offering great battery life and temperatures.
Wondering why Apple is not locking those devices. Afraid of Streisand effect?
at this moment this is free advertisement for the m4 slowly hyping people up for the product announcements.
So much hype for this year’s spec bump!
imo this year's m4 is crucial for the future of apple silicon. ever since apple launched its platform in 2020 amd and intel have tried to put something out that competes with the m1/2/3. earlier this year shots were fired when qualcomm released their socs for windows-arm, but thanks to lackluster software support failed. but with lunar lake's release the air is noticeably becoming thinner for apple silicon so it is important m4 delivers and puts the competition back into their place.

I feel like all these leaks could be avoided if Apple just manufactured their own stuff at factories they owned and controlled in the US where the factory workers would be Apple employees.

Sounds like you'd be OK with the massive increase in retail prices that would need to occur as a result.

One thing is absolutely certain: This was the first unboxing video of the new MacBook Pro Plus It came from Russia this time 🤣.

Edit: Waiting for the first Insideviews from Ifixit.ru

I have a friend who works for a warehouse that partners with Apple and they will receive these units next week. So i believe this is true, but comparing this to the iPhone 4 breach?

Better report about the microscratches on all the screens of all M-series units pointing out the poor QC would give you more buzz.
guys guys guys they’re not comparing this to the iPhone 4 leak lol. they literally said this is the biggest leak since… because it is…

it pales in comparison, but if these images and videos are of the actual M4 MBP then this is the first of its kind since then.

feels a bit sensationalized, but it is what it is.

Seriously, MacBooks are used as a black market currency in Russia. Good face value, value retention, not like other technology commodities.

I really don't get the big deal. Not a redesign and nothing special. We have already seen the chip in the iPad Pros, the color in other models, and the base MacBook Pro (not the Pro line in general) is one of Apples lowest volume Macs.

Now if it was the new Mac mini then I'd understand the hype.

iu

Mackook Air 2030 leaked 🤣.

This has scam written all over it... the way the "prove" is the M4 is the easiest way to make it fake...
It's the Russians....

I think it’s in the news because of the possible China/Russia theft angle, but in social media it has legs because the use of the same box makes it look like an obvious fake, so it lends itself to extreme positions.

I still think there are enough problems with the sticker on the back of the box to indicate it (the sticker, at least) is likely fake, but I can no longer rule out the possibility all of it is genuine.

Good point...I just cancelled my order (although the "idiot" accusation hurt a little bit...I'll now require some therapy).

Nevertheless, I just heard from a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who mis-read a rumors website that the M4 base model is 5x faster than my M2 Max...so I just thought the asking price was quite reasonable.
My cousin’s friend got the M4 and loved it. Do you own research.

Doesn't look like the sale is still going on, but Best Buy was selling the M3 Pro 18GB RAM 512GB SSD for $1650 a week ago. That looks like a smarter purchase than a base model MacBook Pro M4 which will probably be $1600. I imagine you will see some similar or better sales come back for the MacBook Pro M3 Pro after the M4 launch. Something to consider for those thinking of getting a M4 Base MacBook Pro. Not that buying the MacBook Pro base makes much sense to begin with.

You expect stolen goods to be sold at a discount. But since you have YouTubers trying to profit from it... They're able to ask 5X! There it is. Another reason to dislike YouTubers.
