I hope not
Hurry up June 10th!
This will be an interesting WWDC...lots to hope for! new iOS new MacBooks...and HOPEFULLY a new Mac Pro![]()
I want one of the "best" models.![]()
Lol. Obviously our definition of 'change' is different.
I meant more in terms of physica and radicall change as oppose to adding a USB 3 or Thunderbolt.
Anyway!
It's already happened. "Next generation MacBook Pro"
No it hasn't really..the rMBP still niche. To many of us in the working world still need things that it doesn't offer.
You're taking about a DVD/Ethernet drive/port? What else? I'm quite interested in your view. Apple has never been shy of moving things forward.
express card.
hmm well apple products are mainly aimed at general consumers, i'd doubt they'll add those express ports back for the niche amount of people that use it, and for those who want to use ethernet or drive can buy the accessories. Even thought they aren't particularly convienantly, i'm sure those who need it can buy an the accessory.
Once the retina is cheaper, i'm sure it's going to open up with more or the market, with air becoming the best selling model they offer and the retina is aimed at those looking for more power and the screen.
I'm vibing with everything but the non-Xeon bit....?
ok???
express card.

So, what will you use the express card for?
Thank god Apple does not satisfy EVERY need. Because if they would, we would have a VGA Port on every notebook.
After the relatively quiet, first half of 2013, this is going to be an exciting second half of the year.![]()

No personal offense, but I take issue with the "niche" comments towards the pro-market. Apple catered to professionals for years. The advent of iOS based devices broadened their consumer base sky rocketing Apple's market. However neglect in the hardware and displays eventually turned professionals/businesses away resulting in claims it wasn't a market worth pursuing. Yet such claims are improper correlations was based on Apple's neglect, not a general trend away from the pro market. The business sect hasn't taken fully with iPads and such, this is evident with a quick glance at the App Store's top paid and free apps consistently being games, media apps, and, oh, more games. Power systems are still required, with some the retail market adopting iPod Touch devices and Apple licensing use of their software. An quick example would be Sephora.
It seems evident saturation levels are beginning to plateau for iOS devices, and with difficulty tapping into the Chinese market Apple is experiencing the backlash of the pro-end users who left over the past few years. It may be a small market, yet many do not realize the massive monetary amounts invested with tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars at a time in hardware and license upgrades. That adds up to a considerable amount. Neglecting pro-Apps, power systems and ditching the dedicated CCFL LCD line for one stripped down 27" iMac panel designed mainly for notebooks forced many to leave Apple (not to mention quality control that plagues many LED LCD's since the introduction of the 24" iMac and Cinema Display). Photographers to editing studios used Apple displays in conjunction with PowerMac's and OS X focused on power and quality features. The 2 23" CCFL LCD's I owned lasted 7-8 years until the display began to experience burn.
Point, the pro-market may be small, but it certainly makes up for that with the huge monetary investments made.
Uh... You simplify this WAY to much. How do I get a 1TB drive in my Macbook Pro retina? Are you thinking Apple is going to offer a proprietary blade SSD at the 1TB size? If so, how much? $2k? If would be a huge slap in the face of many Apple diehards to see them slim down their line of Macbooks to the Retina and Air only. Would cut out a large base of users who can not deal with an 8GB 256GB Macbook pro and need the option to upgrade to 16GB+ and 1TB+ now or in the future.
The simple answer is.... Make the system a bit thicker (or normal) and do NOT solder the memory, and do NOT provide proprietary SSDs.
Apple is getting ready to make a HUGE decision that could have great impact on the Mac business...
Apple needs to realize that "thinner" does not automatically make something better. Need to listen to your base, not alienate them.
express card.

Antiquated tech. I don't like iPods because they don't have a spindle for my 33RPM vinyl records, or a quality needle.
You buy a blade SSD from OWC and pop it in?
I may be getting my first mac after WWDC...depends really..I love apples premium design and want a device that has no 'issues' or ones a company will own up to. Tired of devices with design flaws that go unfixed.
What i REALLY want is:
Macbook Pro Classic Bottom Half with Retina Screen
So i can replace the cdrom with a regular HD for storage. Looking at all the recent product announcements, all these companys are going 'retina' for less cost and apple can hopefully stay up.
