None of those are tapered and all the video screens have very noticeable borders.

Personally, I think the orange leak is real while the green one is just a bad photoshop job.

Maybe so but would Apple really design a new Nano that looks so like a Taiwan fake iPod?

Drop the dashboard on the home screen. Don't need them in the nano. Just takes up too much space.

It's funny because the Macbook Air is basically a mature version of the clamshell iBook design.

True, and that's why I never liked the AIR. It always reminded me of the clam iBook. I wish it was box like all around straight and through.

so where did all the people that hated the design go? :)

arn
That's what I was thinking. Really :D

I like it; it looks nice, but I don't get why they're making it bigger. Maybe Apple will introduce a 16 or 32GB nano. :p

You can tell this is fake because there is a logo on the border

The green one is obviously fake because it is so pixelated around the screen. Like they took an ipod nano second gen and just stretched the screen.

The orange one I believe is legit

I loathe the idea of a ipod touch nano.

God this is getting seriously boring. What good is a special event when stuff like this keeps leaking out. They might better have something special up there sleeves or I forse a drop in shares.

Like some of you I used to get excited when a special event was announced. But these days the might just called it a "not so very special event, cause everybody knows about event".

truly this doesn't warrant a special event. Just do a silent release Apple and get it over with. Besides I'm getting sick and tired, tall short make-up you damn mind will ya. This thing isn't ugly but it isn't anything special either.

But I must say I am wondering about one thing. If you have the iPod tilted horizontally will the controls tilt with the screen as well. Otherwise it would make for a strange experience.

Would Apple really design a new Nano that looks so like a Taiwan fake iPod? These fake iPods with bigger screens are on the market for more than a year now, i can't see Apple making a new model so similar to these.

If i had to chose, I'd say i like the fat design better. It always felt better in the hand to me.
But if this is the new design, clearly theres going to be a landscape mode to view videos. I'm also hoping to see an updated UI, as the UI on iPods right now seems to be getting a bit outdated.
Aside from the nano news, I'm interested to see the price drops, as you can get an iPhone for 200 bucks now.
Anyway, I'm happy with My 3g iphone and FAT nano for now :)

Maybe there's a little motor that turns the physical clickwheel.
...
Or there's just a weight a the play/pause side an the clickwheel rotates...
Or there are some OLEDs on the clickwheel that display the appropriate icons. WOuld be great for games and movies when the buttons don't do what the labels suggests anyway.

But let's be honest here, does anyone look at the labels after 1 minute of use? You car doesn't have labels on the pedals right?

I think a clickwheel yes. However like the MacBook Air trackpad it will double as a multi-touch pad. So the screen is not multi-touch but the clickwheel is flat and is a clickwheel but doubling as a multitouch pad. Think thats the best transition from iPod classic/nano to full multi-touch iPods for the full range.

still think and hope its fake

why..... because the design does not make any sense
i just had the current one in my hand and its way better
not even work wise but also with the hole ipod design at this point

again i say that the ipod nano can only be better if apple turns it into a nano touch
like an ipod touch but with half the screen size

i know steve sad a while back that having a full touchscreen and no extra buttons there is more room to improve on future updates

with the hole ipod line being touch accept the shuffle they would make it alot easier to work on interfaces and updates (and don't forget the itablets etc.)

so why does everybody think that ugly yellow/orange thing is the real deal
do you want apple to go back in time and not foward?

A touch screen isn't useful for everyone. I can operate my Classic while it's playing without even looking at it, and the Nano would be the same, but make it a touch screen and you have to give it your full attention to do anything with it. No use in the gym, or while running, or driving, etc.

The iPod Touch line might expand. say with a Nano Touch, but I think there will always be room for an iPod with physical controls.

PS, it's whole, not hole, and you should capitalise I and Steve. ;)

I hope the screen won't be glossy, cause if it is, it would be glare so badly! (since the curve would be have more angles)

A touch screen isn't useful for everyone.

On the iPod nano touch just make it simple to click things on the screen leaving out the motion sensors and multi touch movements.
Leave all that for iPod Touch. You don't need the same technology incorporated. After all its just a nano which should just have the basics of touch screen and nothing more. I'll be happy if I can just click with my fingers.

Why I think the Orange one is a fake:

The whole picture seems to be out of focus, while the reflection of a strip-light or some sort of light is pin sharp - the light reflection doesn't even closely match with the light reflection on the bottom right corner of the box - it's far too bright for the whole contrast ratio of the photo - also, look at the way the surface the box is lying on changes half way up the screen - there's been some strechin here! It's an ipod mini.

i like the taller nano form factor if real. i always thought the wide nanos look kinda dorky. would like a touch nano even better. hope they shrink down the current touch. it's a bit too big or if they keep it the same, add one of those cool cameras that are on the iphones. :apple:

Is it just me or does the new Nano constantly get less tappered? I just don't see Apple releasing an iPod that's so non-original. I think this guy put a knock off inside of a 2G Nano case.

With all the evidence posted on this forum you still believe this is a fake?
