I bought a 1st gen Nano for my sister, and while it's good, it's shape is no-way near as nice as my 3rd gen IMO.

Still, I will reserve judgement until I see one of the supposed new ones in the flesh...

this photo is real i have a similar one on my website but mine is red look at my web site, at http://techuniverses.blogspot.com

See for your self!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Opinions - crazy ones even - are fine. But trying to pass of pure fiction as fact? How old are you? 13? You really think we're that stupid? Have you not even been reading this thread? Unfortunately I did click your link before reading further. Oh well you win. But site hits don't pay bills.

I really don't hope they use this green.

Ugly as sin.

:D I'm just wondering if anybody noticed that the dock adapter is kind of slim and long, basically built for the current Nano, not for the fake one in the picture. Totally fake!!!!!

Is it just me - I thought Apple were committed to producing environmentally conscious packaging.

The Macbooks and iPhones I have brought have great packaging - this one for the Nano is plain nasty... Come on Apple you can do better than this...?

PS: I"m not a big tree hugger usually! :)

mixed feelings

I will start by saying that I absolutely LOVE the color. But seriously, I have my old 4gb ipod nano sitting in front of me from i don't even know how long ago and it looks soooo similar! Common, is this the best they can do after all those years? I mean, at least the last generation was adorably tiny and short. It feels like they're going backwards. Perhaps this can do something new and innovative but I dunno.

oh gross, this looks just like a zune!

Fake?

I can't help thinking Apple would upgrade the Nano to something more than this. Their App Store is hugely successful - should it only me limited to the iPhone and iPod Touch? Saying that, I don't mind the design of the 4th Gen getting knocked about here.

The games on the nano would probably be a lot more fun then on the touch because you will have the clickwheel + motion sensor. And if the nano has modeshift like the rokr e8 when your in game mode the click wheel would change into a gamepad. :crosses fingers: :D

Here I tweaked a mockup to look like what I was describing

I'm surprised how short people's memory capacity is. Only one generation of the nano has been different from the elongated design, and that is the most recent 3G. Considering that the first two generations of the iPod nano were BEFORE the smaller Zune it doesn't make sense to say the rumoured 4G nano looks like a Zune, but looks like previous generations with just a longer screen.

that adapter looks nothing like my 3G adapter. you're going to see that these pics are right on the money. we shall all see tomorrow.

I agree with the posters who have proposed a smaller touch iPod, although I think that those who highlight the problem of size also have a point. The interface would have to change to accommodate the reduced size. I put together some mockups of how this might look on my blog a couple of months back:

Introducing a 9-icon variant of the iPhone OS would add a significant ongoing overhead to the development of the platform. Nonetheless, given the importance of offering smaller form-factor devices, it may well make sense for Apple to branch development in this way. It would mean that standard iPhone apps would not work on this platform - they would require adaptation.

now that is a nano i would buy. nano touch. hell yeah!!

Hi9larious...I was thinking this very thing. It's not even been a year since the 3G nanos were released and it's as though the "Thinner than a pencil" launch never even happened :)

Oh to go back to 2006 again :)

I just read on engadget that all iPod nano 3G will be discarded once the new ones come out. Basically, even if they have some and you want to buy you won't be able to.

fake

I'm guessing and hoping this is a fake.

i went to a electronics liquidation last weekend and saw fake ipod that looked just like this. I HAVE PICTURES TO SHOW IF ANYONE WANTS THEM.

Look how there is no apple symbol on the bottom of the case. Apple puts there symbol every were i just don't see this being real. Also these designs look to thick. THis is steve jobs were talking about here, it should be paper thin.
