Same keyboard layout as the new MacBook where up and down arrow keys occupy a single key slot.Anyone else notice the up arrow key is missing? Fake?

I had. Several times. Which is why I'm thankful that my MBPs had MagSafe. Losing that is definitely a downside for me.MagSafe never really served much function. I never had the cord for any of my devices yanked that way.
Many people on here are complaining about no MagSafe, yet at the same time so many people have also complained over the years that MagSafe has existed that the connectors are unreliable and fail too easily. So which one do you want...do you want MagSafe and the issues there have been with those connectors, or do you want a different power solution that could potentially be more resilient? What's so great about MagSafe anyway that makes such a deal breaker for so many of you?
Lots of folks are also complaining about a lack of SD card reader, but when it really comes down to it, how many people that might buy this computer still use SD cards? I'm a power user myself, but almost never use an SD card. The only time I do is on the rare occasion that I get out my point and shoot camera and in that case, it doesn't bother me in the least to get out my USB SD card reader or just connect the camera directly with USB.
How many professional level DSLR use SD card?
No MagSafe????? :'(
It has MagSafe 3, and I would happily trade a reduction in weight or improved battery for the obsolete SD card slot.Is thinness really so important to you people that you are willing to sacrifice the use of your fourth data port (because there is no MagSafe 2 on here) and the SD card slot?
Or one adapter that can do all of those things using only one port leaving 3 more open.DongleGate.
Seriously, with just 4 USB-C ports you can't do anything pro. 1 for power, 1 for external display (which I doubt FCPX will recognize as an A/V Output), 1 for connecting existing Thunderbolt peripherals leaves you with only one empty. Unless you want to connect an SD card reader. Disappointing
The OLED panel looks good though.
Couldn't that be done with physical keys too?Because now you can make their use app dependent. Like dedicated software keys for Photoshop, autocad etc. Very useful for pros, but this opinion might be very unpopular here because most would rather complain about the un-pro-ness of removing an sd slot.
Let's face it, is consumer focused, not pro focused. I think they should try and appeal to both, but what do I know?
I think like once this was an issue for me, but overall - no. I do really, really love the quick connect/disconnect, just in terms of getting up from my desk to move to another location. Is it really that big a deal? I guess not, but it's so d*mn cool and easy -- it'd be a shame to lose it.

Usage data shows very very few actually use the SD slot.
Get rid of the pieces few use. An SD reader can be had for a couple bucks. Removing it saves weight for the other 99.9% of users, lowers costs, increases battery life, and leaves more room internally for other things (including a larger battery).
So now we charge through USB-C instead of the standard MagSafe port?
So whenever it's plugged in I'm down 25% on available ports?
I hope they'll keep the glowing Apple logo.
DongleGate.

No Magsafe, no SD, removal of the glowing apple all scream cost cutting.
Yep, and only $179 in Australia.Apple will introduce Apple Dongle, the most revolutionary dongle in history. Start at $99.

apple isnt going to make it a standard. its already out there and doesnt need apple to spread.I LOVE it and I hope this is real!
By the way, USB-C IS the future. And if not Apple, who the hell would move on and make it a standard?
Look at all these new MacBook copies. Other companies are trying so hard to be like Apple that that they are basically willing to copy anything Apple does and only then it will be a standard.
So yes, I'll be more than happy with four USB-C ports and I hope this awesome little MacBook will be introduced at WWDC.
No MagSafe????? :'(
With USB C on both sides you can connect the power adapter on either side. I see this as an advantage over a single MagSafe. No MagSafe, no SD-card slot... *sigh*
Why, Apple, do you hate us?
Yea, I hear that. It's a nice feature that they are eliminating. I think it's outlived its usefulness for its original purpose, but, that aside, it is convenient.
Reasons:
1. Having to buy a magsafe adaptor
2. Having to buy two usb adaptors
3. Having to buy a thunderbolt adaptor
4. Having to carry around those adaptors
