I've not watched a Samsung keynote before..

Are they worth watching?

I assume they've copied Apple's keynote style too, so big stage, well rehearsed speakers, and modern image-based presentation slides, with several videos?

Samsung's keynotes are usually very modernized and innovative...not just some powerpoint presentation using an overhead projector like Apple's and the stage set is typically second to none..........:D

And you guys never explained what was so great about those first iphones I mentioned.............as long as they slapped iOS on it...you all were enthralled. Watch the show in another hour to get your explanation...

I never said any phone you mentioned was great, so I don’t know who “you guys” are. Let’s see samsung actually sell any of these dumb things before getting too excited. They don’t solve any real problem for anyone, so they’re going to tank.

Its a disruptor. You get to carry a tablet in your pocket. If this turns out a success, its curtains for Apple's iPad.

That’s a lot of ifs. And it’s not a very good tablet - smaller than an iPad mini? “Carrying a tablet in my pocket” is not a problem to be solved. The “tablet in my pocket” may be a tool to solve some problem, but it is not a problem in itself.

I guess you're right, every person in the World must have copied Apple's keynotes, I mean the big stage, the speakers, the image slides and several videos. If I were you I'd sue Taylor Swift shows right now.

You call a Samsung device ...dumb. That's your first mistake when their devices clean the floor on what you can actually do...iPhones have been dumbed down for almost a decade now.

I know Siri is dumb...i know having a iPad Pro without true desktop features is dumb (although it does look quite nice in my hands)...thats what I call dumb. Apple has to solve its problems because they really do have more to solve compared to the rest of the industry.

Not a surprise that there is some skepticism here from the Apple cultists, it's been awhile since they've seen what innovation looks like.
Samsung is not the first to release a foldable phone. At any rate this does not smell like innovation to me, but YMMV on the ever moving definition of innovation.

How much would you like to bet that this typical Samsung prototype ends up like the Galaxy Gear? We're talking about a company that will throw everything at the wall to see what sticks, without even first making sure it's a quality product. Then, if it sticks, they'll start iterating on it repeatedly across regions and you'll quickly regret having bought the first one. THAT is what Apple waits to do right. If you can't see that or why people say that, you're blind.
iPhone 5C, iTunes Match, iPhone XR, Apple Watch Edition Gold, Ping, Connect, Face ID... these are some examples Apple threw lately to see if it sticked and it seems like they were a failure.

If it folded screen-outwards it might be useful. Phone for one handed use, mini tablet when you need a bit more real estate.

I’ve never met anyone who owned a curved display.

I’ve never seen anyone actually use their tv for 3D.

I’ve yet to see anyone explain why a folded phone, particularly one that folds so the screen is on the inside, is of any use to anyone.

I’ve seen thousands of people with apple watches and iPhones. There are Apple TVs installed throughout my office building.

How is it “game over” for Apple just because Samsung continues to throw every gimmick it can at the wall? Just because something is technically possible doesnt mean anyone finds it necessary to buy.
You don't seem to have met many people in your life.

Wait, doesn‘t the iPad Pro already do this?
This was clearly an Apple invention back from 2014.

This seems like a classic example of ability over practicality - it exists because they wanted to make one, but doesn’t seem to serve any practical or functional reason. Phones fit the hand. Want something bigger, use a tablet.

Oh well, time will tell...
¿Por qué no los dos? Seriously, though. If people go crazy over this device which costs upwards of $2,000 and it sells like hotcakes amongst a certain bleeding-edge tech crowd (like the first iPhone), why wouldn't they make it? I think the form factor actually makes a lot of sense. Mobile devices are cutting down the amount of time a lot of people spend on laptops/desktops (especially for leisure time and browsing) so think fits perfectly into that trend.

Clever use of a butterfly. People understand it.

Blah blah. Your opinion.

Now that’s what I call a blind sheep. If the keyboard problem is just a “opinion”, then why Apple launched a repair program outside warranty?

I wonder where the virtual keyboard would go in this configuration?

Also wouldn't there be a yucky fold line in the middle of video playback?
The panel is supposed to be one continuous display, not two panels.
So no seem/fold line.
But we should find out soon enough.

To be honest, this looks pretty cool.

Samsung has definitely getting more design centric lately.

For the first shot at foldables it seems like they did a good job.

A foldable will be my next iphone / iPad. I hope I can expect one within the next 2 years.

I have always had iPhone and not gonna lie Samsung is really starting to win me over I might upgrade to Samsung. Apple just seems to be falling behind and charging way to much for their products unlike Samsung actually has new upgrades worth the pricing.

How so? Look at an iPad and consider it’s size if folded in half. Would you want to carry that in your pocket? Smart phones already have large screens, doubling them still doesn’t get near an iPad, let alone a Pro. If tablets are moving toward laptop replacements simply making a lose what larger phone is no going to threaten that.

Is that a Samsung in your pocket, or are you just gald to see me? To paraphrase Mae West...

You know what's really funny? People that supposedly hate a company but takes the time to read daily rumors about said company, make an account on a rumor site about that company, check it regularly and then post.

I hate Microsoft and I have no idea if there is a rumor board. See the difference?

Your opinion is based on farts.....
First, I didn’t make an account on this website to post my hate about Apple or to read rumors. In fact, you can read the rumors and news without an account ;)
It was made to help, share opinions and get help when needed on the forum section.
However, I do find it necessary to help blind consumers to think about their purchases.
