It sucks the standard version won't come with silicone ear tips. the 1/2 gen made my ear hurt when wearing for a prolonged time, so I went for the pro.

I would say that's the best part :)
When my PRO´s die I will def "downgrade" back to the regular AirPods.
The original design always felt so effortless to use. The Pros always feels like a hassle.

So, good thing they have options.

Really hope the AirPods Pro 2s will also be coming soon. My original pair (that isn't even a year old) stopped working. Need to replace them (hopefully, this pair will last longer). #PlannedObsolescence

I do believe these to be real: It would make sense that these are supposed to replace the 1st and 2nd "regular" AirPods. I think the idea with these is that they're designed to be both "on-ear" and in-ear, meaning that you can use them with silicone tips but also without. It might even be the case that Apple doesn't give you the silicone tips in the box, that it's an additional purchase as is the case for so many Apple products.

I expect these to have much improved sound over all current AirPods, so the incentive to upgrade from either regular or Pro AirPods will be quite evident. These will lack ANC but the sound will be much improved over the current AirPods Pro and possible also improved battery life as another result of no ANC.

In true Apple fashion, the better sound you get from these AirPods "Better Sound" will push many to upgrade because of how mediocre the sound is in both AirPods and AirPods Pro. But then, in late 2021 or 2021, Apple will launch a true upgrade to the AirPods Pro with ANC and possibly more features rendering these much less attractive.

I personally cannot stand anything in-ear regardless of all the things manufacturers do to improve the downsides. So I will definitely be getting these if they are "on-ear" and have improved sound and battery.

What I don't understand about these renders (if true) is how the shape of the heads of these things can vary so much from the current AirPods. When they initially released the first version Apple made a huge deal about how they studied thousands of ear shapes and determined this was THE most ergonomic fit for all. So now, what they studied a couple thousand more and the results are different enough to reshape the speaker again?

Not saying it's impossible, just curious how much of this shape is truly based on studies vs. aesthetics...

Looks like somebody photoshopped out the inner sensors from every angle except for one. Dunno why…

Good, I don’t want anything in my ear canal. All I hear people say on these forums is that choice is good, and I agree - nobody should be opposed to Apple offering these without silicone tips when they can choose the Pro model with them if they want.

If they really don’t have the squishy earwax magnets ear tips I’ll buy these on day one. :)

side note, I really really hope that the rumor of removing the stem entirely for the second generation AirPods Pro is false. That would look so atrocious. The Samsung buds look like hearing aids.

My original Airpods are starting to get shorter and shorter battery life... Maybe 25 minutes now. I like so much about them, the quick charge case, but hopefully there will be increasingly better battery health tech in these before I get another pair.

They last 25 mins or they have lost 25 mins?

I'm a fan of both the regular AirPods and the "in-ear" silicone tips AirPods Pro. Both designs fit in my ears fine. Though I prefer the silicone tips AirPods Pro design.

Regardless, the leaks look good and should stay like this. Not every model needs to be silicone. ;)

These will be my go-to sleep in airpods. The pro's rubber tips kill my ears when laying on a pillow and i refuse to by the old airpods
