Doesn't seem likely.

Too much stock on the 9th and 10th gen models. All of them available to ship and in-store. Engraved units have an ETA of only one week.

The 10th-generation iPad still has the 'New' tag against it on Apple's website, so I'm not convinced by this latest rumour.View attachment 2296735
Apple continues to label anything less than 1 year from it's release date as "new". The 10th gen iPad was released on October 18, 2022 so only a couple days until the new label comes off.

Apple will let retailers use them for Black Friday deals to clear out old stock. Then they don't have to offer discounts on new models.

So what do we think? 9th gen ipad will go away .. 10th gen ipad will drop to $299 price point .. 11th gen ipad at $399.. old m1 ipad air at $499 and new ipad air at $549 as usual?

Apples development of iPads has plateaued... it has for many manufacturers...

Most tablets... even Apples lowest of the range model does what most people want of a tablet... for others that are artists and who push the iPads in other ways can do most of what they need on the 2018 iPad Pros.. only a very small percentage need anything more powerful... and if you do, its likely a Mac would be a better option.

All we have had are incremental updates... higher refresh screens, faster processors, more RAM... but the use case and limitation of iPad OS remains.

No wonder revenue for tablets its falling off a cliff.. the market has reached saturation... and most people are happy with iPads that are 3 plus years old.

All Apple need to do now is push out a major refresh on a 2 years cycle... release refined, sensible, worthwhile updates instead of a random, ill advised update cycle chasing changes for revenue. Please no more updates like last years base model which used the ancient cumbersome Apple Pencil first gen... requiring an adapter! It just stinks of bad decision making and desperation. That shouldn't happen at a company that basically re-defined and made the tablet its own.

It's now all about the software.. features like improving stage manager... maybe a hybrid option for the Pro devices where you can maybe have a MacOS-like user interface if you so desire. Better software is what iPad needs along with sensible hardware design.

I’ve never seen such a delicious array of leaks. The 11th-gen won’t do for me because it doesn’t have P3 color or a laminated display but I hope the Air gets a refresh!

They have both in the AirPods cases... Would be an excuse for Apple to raise the price, $159 MSRP anyone?
The Pencil would have to be longer (or thicker) than the 2 to accommodate the charging connector at the same battery capacity. That would seem like a regression, in particular for users who only need the wireless option.

For the AirPods cases, the situation is different because you need the wireless charger in addition to charge wirelessly (you can’t charge the case with your iPhone or iPad wirelessly), whereas with the Pencil 2 you only need the iPad that you have anyway.

I hope Apple increases the RAM/Memory for the 11th Gen iPad and iPad mini to future proof it more. I’m doubtful they’d give them 8gb like the current Air and iPad Pros but it be nice to see the regular iPads go to 6GB of memory.

This is just the Apple Store. I'm sure there's loads of inventory in other channels.

I looked online and some of the 10th gen are out at some Apple locations near me.

In most cases, when a new product is about to be launched, half or most the stores will be OOS. A new engraved unit, direct from China, takes only one week according the Apple Store. That's far too quick if the factory is supposed to be ramping the new model.

If it’s a very light cpu upgrade to A15 the I guess they could lose the 9th gen iPad so that lightning connected stuff starts to disappear from the site. Maybe the 10th gen sticks around as cheaper budget model?

It seems the difference between the 10 and 11 would be too small to make the higher-priced 11 attractive. The target group mostly doesn’t care about the CPU as long as it’s “good enough”.
