I'm hoping they release the new iPad Air tomorrow. My 1st gen iPad Pro battery doesn't last that long anymore. Do I really need an iPad Air? No not really, but hey sometimes the wants out weigh the needs lol
Looking at the Apple website and what has just appeared as "New", I am guessing only the Pro and iPad is getting a refresh. Maybe they just missed Air though...we can hope.

Just another prediction. Along with the Air being dropped today we will also see the budget 9th gen iPad with home button dropped as well.

The iPad 10th gen will become the budget model with limited colour options, un-laminated screen, lesser storage, slower chip and lesser camera. Maybe they'll also brand this as the SE.

The iPad 11th gen will replace the Air.

And new Pros will arrive next year with a Pro exclusive, more laptop-like aluminium keyboard.

It's Available now on Apple's site

Doesn’t look like anything is happening today based on Apple Store stock info. No new iPad of any kind.

The only product with a relatively extended lead time is engraved iPad 9. That suggests it might be deleted. iPad 10 has plenty of stock including 2-day turnaround on engraved. It might simply get a price drop.

Last year the store went down in about 5 minutes or so.

I’m just looking at stock of all iPad models. iPad 10 and M1 Air are fully in stock and ready for same week delivery including engraved. If those products are being deleted, we would see extended lead times by now.

The only thing that could happen today is iPad 9 gets deleted.

Does this mean Apple retires two more lightning devices, the iPad (9th Gen) and the Pencil (1st Gen)?

Would be wild if the cheap iPad goes from Pencil 1 straight to Pencil 3.
Which we all know won't happen unless there are new iPad Pros, Airs and/or Minis to go along, it wouldn't make sense to have the latest accessory only on the low-end of the iPad line.

Could it be, just maybe, that a new Pencil wouldn't require new iPads and would be backward-compatible with existing ones instead?

iPad 10th Gen, starting at $449 w/ only 64GB of storage and support for Apple Pencil (Gen 1). Get out of here Apple. I can't wait to hear Apple fans defend this price hike. This is going to be both laughable and sad. Apple should trademark the phrase "A fool and his/her money are soon parted".
I am confused, is this a ”NEW” 10th gen? Is it required for use of the new apple pencil?

Majin is an interesting leaker sometimes, but this one made no sense.

Another 'iPhone Mini' drop in a tablet related article. It's not going to happen. Deal with it.
We will not drop the iphone Mini requests, we will insist in any possible article and we expect everyone to support us. Btw we are talking about Mini’s here 😂🤣 … will share a picture of how nice the two minis look when placed next to each other

I have always wondered how and why Apple has managed to keep the lowest iPad prices below the iPhone prices. (except maybe the SE)

Primarily it is older , mature tech (that pragmatically has already had its R&D paid for). The second factor is just 'less' stuff. (less RAM, less storage). And less modem ( $130-200 more cost in Apple's BTO system. )

The iPad 9th uses the same screen tech as previous versions. It picked up the A-series SoC that was about to fall out of the iPhone 'hand me down" line up during its service lifetime. ( iPad 9th has a A13 and still being sold. The iPhone with a A13 stopped being sold over a year ago (iPhone 11 A13). )

Mainly same reasons Apple sells the iPhone (n - 2) for a lot less at the end of its service life than it was sold when it was the leading edge iPhone n .

P.S. iPad 10th gen didn't keep the same screen or same camera placement/tech and the price crept up to where it couldn't replace the iPad 9th.
