What do you misplace? (I"m hoping to stick it on the remote)
To be honest, I've never misplaced anything important. If something is important to me, I know where I've left it or it is on my person. Like I said though, we are not all the same and I'm not hating on anyone who wants one of these. They just aren't for me. I also think it would be more appealing if they were dime sized. But then again Apple does need to charge more money for this amazing "feature" down the road, as if they couldn't make them that size now.

According to Weinbach, the AirTags will come in one size measuring 32mm x 32mm x 6mm, which would put the circular devices in the same ballpark diameter-wise as a half dollar piece – a bit smaller than Samsung's Galaxy SmartTags (39mm x 39mm x 9mm) and a little larger than a Tile Sticker (27mm x 7.3mm).

If the AirTags have equal length and width dimensions, it means it's going to be a square shape, right? You'd only need to give the diameter if it were circular, for example, like the Tile Sticker whose dimension are 27mm diameter and 7.33mm depth, as quoted above.

Quick, somewhat unrelated question: is everyone else here still able to see L0vetodream's tweets, since they're mentioned here? It says that his tweets are protected for me - not sure if he blocked me or what.
It says for me he limits who can view his tweets, but it could also be because I wasn’t logged in. And don’t even have a Twitter account at all. Haha.

Depends on how it works. If it automatically has every iOS device at its disposal to track its locations then I think that actually might be more useful than anything (see tile) out there currently.
You're going to depend on other peoples iOS devices, like they care? I mean I wish we lived in that kind of world but we don't anymore. Otherwise this is useless for theft in my opinion, unless the thief is stupid enough to stay in bluetooth range. If that is the case, then the person in this scenario was had but someone that dumb. Not good.

Apart from not knowing where one parked one’s car (which many have a panic alarm of equal ranges) or where one left their left shoe, which this is great for, how well will this work in areas where there is little or no crowdsourcing of radio info?

Will be interesting if this pans out. Price is better than I was expecting - and they might actually sell a few at this price point.

hmm I wonder if i could fit it into my apple wallet... 3 cards is already really tight.

Would be mighty useful for pet owners. Or people who let their cats out so they can keep track where their feline masters are up to at night.
If that's what you're looking for, a GPS option is going to be much better. For these to work, they'll have to go near someone with an iPhone and that person will have to have the option to detect and send that data back to Apple, turned on. There are lots of places a pet may wander that doesn't go anywhere near someone with a phone, much less an iPhone.

There are plenty of GPS collars that are just a couple bucks a month for the service. Friend has one for his dog that lets you see their movement live on GPS, along with buzz them, turn a light on the collar on so you can spot them easier in the dark, and more. Costs less than $10 a month.

In this day and age where i use a debit card 99.9% of the time, i had to google what a 50 cent coin looked like. “ Oh yeah..” I thought to myself. I kinda forgot what those looked like.
Even all there was was paper money, a 50 cent coin was not something you saw very often. Same with those quarter sized dollar coins.

I can view them. However, if you are blocked, it will legit say the user blocked you. Not protected

Battery life would be interesting to know
Yes, and whether these are rechargeable batteries or you need to change them. I tried one of these accessories a few years ago and was extremely disappointed: the battery didn't last more than a month, so it made the whole thing pointless when you are trying to locate your thing and it doesn't work.

I'm expecting Apple to release higher quality products. If I can use my MagSafe charger or any other Qi charger with that, and get notifications on my devices when these tags need to be recharged, that would be nice.

Waiting for the after market AirTags sticker for the plain front face…

Or, better yet, cut a deal with Disney / Marvel to put the Cap shield on the face. I'd buy one tomorrow if that happened.

When these were introduced (rumored) my immediate thinking was how can I place this on my small child. I'd also put one in my car and on, if I can manage it, my bicycle.
Ohhhh, I could have used this Monday when the indoor cat slipped out of his harness on the way to the vet, and went on a walkabout in our wooded surroundings. Would have stopped the kiddo from crying.

Sold.

I loved that sentence, because it's true.

Prosser is a joke.
