Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

They are not metallic like BullStrap or Apple's cases, but they honestly aren't bad. I would still recommend getting an Apple or BullStrap one though, since I feel like their cases are just a higher quality in general. BullStrap actually smells like Italian leather which makes it feel much more premium.

Thanks for your suggestion. Bullstrap is on my short list. Still waiting to see what Apple's look like when they come out this Friday. Generally I prefer cases other than Apple's, because I don't like that the bottom is exposed. However, that seems to have changed this year, so that puts them back in the running in my book.

Yeah I'm waiting for the same. I have the silicone magsafe case right now (which tbh is actually really nice, seems Apple stepped their case game up a bit) but I want to get an official leather one once they come out. I had a saddle brown one for my iPhone 7 and I loved that case.

Nice. Do the silicon cases still peel/chip like they did a few years ago?

I want to see what their version of the 12 case is going to look like. I was going order one for the 12, but I see Dave is looking at the design and how they’re going to make the case work with the edges of the 12. I may still order one once they’re released.
 
I will point out that an intrinsic aspect of “patina” on leather is “dirt”. In the current times, it’s worth noting that a leather case is a great breeding ground for bacteria and viruses- just something to consider.

Most used leather cases have more microorganisms than a public toilet seat, after all.

Yeech.

Really, if you’re one of the people all worked up about people not wearing a mask, carrying a leather cased phone is a real contradiction.

Since the iPhone 12 leather cases were revealed earlier today, I’ve decided to also show you all my old cases I had on my old iPhone 5s and SE… as they look so similar to the new thing.

The phone is wearing a black one. The black-looking one on the right is actually dark blue (midnight blue?). The light blue on the left does show some patina, although not too much; I wasn’t wearing it too much, I suppose…

my blue leather for my gold SE1 looks really similar

it was a very different feeling leather, than the 6 onward ones straight out of the box
 
As someone with a 12 Pro - Apple Silicon case (with a closed bottom) - last night I found the bottom lip interfering with my ability to slide up (when I was laying down using the phone (on my stomach) ). I'm not a fan at all of the closed bottom. But I got a Sena case coming so :p I'm very glad they stayed with an open bottom.
 
I also like the open bottom but all other leather case brands doesn’t have MagSafe so I can’t attach the leather wallet to them.
Will get the apple saddle brown.
 
Although I use the Saddleback leather cover for my Xs Max, my wife has had the Apple leather folio case for her Xs Max (for two years) and it has held up very well, and still looks great.
 
Just for reference, here’s my new nomad natural case next to my bellroy wallet that’s about 1-2 years old. It started out as the same shade of the nomad case. I’ll post update pics in a few months.

I’m really liking the look of the “Ocean” case from Bullstrap. I’ve only had one leather case before, and that was an Apple one for the XSMax. I’m loving my silicone right now, but a nice leather case for occasions would be great. Sounds like people generally like the quality of Bullstrap? Just wish they were shipping sooner. Being told by them early December.

They have incredible quality imo. I've really enjoyed their cases. You can also get matching watch bands.
