Well, it looks like I’m back to the trusted black leather case again. I’ve not been happy with the way the SB started to look after a month of daily use. I’m fine with a patina, but this looked more dirty than anything. Plus the different shade of brown on the camera ring sticks out a lot. I wish they would’ve matched it to the leather tone begged. The is too bright IMO, so I’m back in black. Hoping for some new colors in the Spring collection.
As a side note, this particular black leather case seems to have a very nice pattern on the back. Liking those lines.

I went to buy the red and found it too bright same as you. But it should darken up. Reds are the most likely to turn into a drop dark grimy red

The black is very smooth and sharp. It has a rich, subtle aging progression but just always looks sleek. It can look futuristic or retro. I went with a black bullstrap case which I should have next week.

Why not a chance for red?

Not a picture, but here’s a video of how the Baltic blue has aged. Hope this helps.

Edit: never mind, I see you wanted a pic of the white and blue combination.
Looks like the color is wearing off down to black.

On Reddit; someone posted that the “patina” isn’t patina. It’s paint being worn off of the thin piece of leather on the cases. Take that with a grain of salt, but it seems to be what’s going on with the cases this year from apple. The leather is not vegetable tanned nor has it undergone any tanning process. It’s been painted over.

That was kind of what I gathered when I saw some people post their progression with the Saddle Brown. It’s barely changed on the whole flat area of the back and the corners are almost black. Just not very well done this year. At all. Seems like the Apple penny-pinching went to the wrong department this time. At least the silicone has great colors this year. I’m really enjoying my Cyprus Green.

What are people doing with their phones? I’ve had mine a little over 2 weeks, and it still looks brand new. I don’t see how it could look like that after a month.

I have no idea. On the subreddit, the one saddle brown user used rubbing alcohol near one of the speaker port cutouts and the paint came right off onto the napkin exposing the black underbelly of the “leather” case.

Why would anyone do that? Of course rubbing alcohol is going to remove the dye. That’s true with any leather product.

To prove it’s not dye and actually paint. I used an alcohol wipe on my 11 pro case and there was no transfer of dye onto the wipe. Try rubbing an alcohol wipe on a fatty tanned oiled leather. No color transfer.

Hi everyone. I was inspired by someone here to modify my month-old saddle brown 12PM case, and I’m glad I did because it looks much better now. I rubbed it down with some shop wipes (Tub O Towels brand), and applied KG Extreme All Purpose Leather Guard. I did this twice. The final time, I let the conditioner absorb for about 8 hours before wiping the residue off with a paper towel. I’ve attached photos of the results. The feel is much more “leathery” than before. Hope this helps, and thanks to the previous commenter for the inspiration.

That does look much better! Good job. I ruined my case, performing my usual artificial aging process.

So he ended up with a saddle brown napkin...?

That doesn't sound ideal. 😬

WOW! Thank you for sharing how hard was it to remove the leather dye that’s on these cases. Can you post more photos. This reminds a lot of the old saddle brown from iPhone 6s-iPhone xs

How long did you apply for the first application of the KG? Looks good.

No problem! Sure thing, I’ll post more tomorrow.

For the first KG application I let it sit maybe 5-10 min. It darkened a bit but wasn’t looking quite how I wanted it, so wiped it with a couple more shop towels and re-applied.

Thanks. Not familiar with the towels you mention wondering what that does ? Degreaser? Thanks.

Now, that looks nice compared to some I have seen in here!

Would mind posting some photos with the phone
