New Cosmos Blue Silver X

View attachment 762154

Weird, I thought Cosmos Blue was a greener, more teal colour than that.

Actually just came to this thread from The Verge's video. I think Dieter's got good taste ^^

My saddle brown case is gaining a nice patina, I've used Mink Oil on it a couple of times, first time had little effect (I guess cause I didn't rough it up with sand paper first) but the second time softened and darkened it a little. Right now it's quite an even slightly dark colour all over. It's definitely much nicer than the black Apple Leather iPhone 6 plus case I had last.

Yeah, the guy i got it off bought 2 on release and didn't use this one, it's Cosmos Blue on the box and definitely genuine.
It's like it's between cosmos and electric blue. Unless they changed cosmos colour a bit from then or because its been in packet for 6 months.

I have a Saddle Brown case for my iPhone X, and it has a nice patina, but I sometimes put it in the back pocket of my jeans. So now there are denim stains on the case. Any ideas on how to get them out?

Just don’t try to clean anything. It’s the way naturally colored leather ages.
It will in time even look better than artificially “vintaged” leather looks...

Hey guys!

Just got a Midnight Blue for my 6s: What's the best way to keep it clean?

I know some folks use protectant/waterproofing cream or spray to help prevent staining but I've never put anything on my Midnight Blue... or Black and Saddle Brown for that matter. Honestly with Midnight Blue it will darken with use to almost black so you won't have to worry about visible staining.

Now if you are talking simply removing germs, I can't help you there. Anyone use simple alcohol wipes and then condition the leather?

First time posting. I was a little bit reluctant to get the leather case for my iPhone because of the open design in the bottom, but I really liked the look of the saddle brow over time. So I gave in and just got it. I've had it for a few days and it is a little slippery but I know that will get better over time.

Alcohol on a colored leather surface - I would NOT try this - unless you want to get rid of the color...
There are leather cleaners/conditioners, exactly for that purpose.

I occasionally use wet wipes to clean my cases, even the leather ones (yikes!). I haven't noticed any colour loss so far (I mean, nothing I'd see on the wipes). But you're right, it would perhaps be better to use an appropriate product...

Just a warning to everyone. I had the Apple Leather case on my iPhone 7 Plus and "treated" it with leather cleaner. It made it unusable. It became sticky I the hand and no mater how often I tried to clean it to get rid of that condition I count not. In the end I had to buy another one and just used it naturally.

If you get the Apple leather case, just use it naturally. It'll age and improve beautifully.

I tried the coconut oil trick on a saddle brown, darkened it but felt like crap. Sold it on ebay with description of what i did, buyer was happy ;)
