Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

I've been lurking in this thread for months and finally decided to pick up a Saddle Brown to add to my collection which includes Black and Midnight Blue. Grabbed one at the Apple Store over lunch today so only a few hours in but this patina process should prove to be fun. My hands are naturally fairly oily so I plan to just let nature take its course over the coming weeks and months. I'll check in every so often with updated pics for those who care. You guys finally got me! LOL

One month of just about daily use. There were a few pool days in there so I went with something else on those. Phone took a little spill in my hotel room in New Orleans last weekend and landed case side down on the corner of a charging brick. The phone was absolutely fine but the case got a nice size gash there to the lower right of the Apple logo. I blame the Hurricane... and Hand Grenade
Bugged me for a couple days until my flight home when I realized its shape. Gives the case a little more character and will be a reminder of a really fun weekend in the Crescent City.

Not artificially aged, no. I've had it on my phone for about three weeks. It's getting stained/"dirty" at the bottom of the case but otherwise it still looks about the same as when I got it. Or it's darkening so uniformly everywhere that I can't tell.

If the coloring starts to significantly change I'll post a pic.

Here's a picture of mine. It definitely seems to have darkened but I have nothing to compare it with so I can't say that for certain.

Edit: Adding a second picture with better lighting.

Just saw an Apple employee with the orange case and his looks awful. So it will age poorly (IMO).

I put some leather conditioner / cleaner one when I first got it to soften it up a bit. The only thing I do is wipe with a damp microfiber cloth from time to time if I notice any grime. I don’t get my hands too dirty so it’s easy for me but for someone who works with their hands they might have a tougher time.

A little over a month later. Wasn't careful enough, placed my phone over some water drops and it got some stains, but it is getting darker. Can't believe that I waited so long to get a leather case from Apple. I have just been using it everyday, no special handling or products.

Took mine out today as well - haven't used it for a long time.
It's holding up pretty well, apart from these peculiar "stripes" on the back. I don't know where I got that from, as when I bought the case, it was perfect. I guess the colour got off at some point because I cleaned the case once in a while with one of these wet screen wipes and those contain alcohol. It's hard to get them on photo, because they will be more or less visible depending on the surrounding light.

And of course, edges and corners pick up stains much faster than other parts of the case, see pics.
All in all, I still like this case a lot, and will continue using it, hopefully it will age somehow nicely. :)

I wonder if the stripes are bends from removing the case?
