I used to own a decoded on my previous phone. I can tell you this leather is far better. Even better than nomad or bull strap. It’s smooth, supple and in person the color is beautiful. It has a nice patina sheen to it
Is the speaker area open or closed?

I recently damaged my decoded leather case so I decided to order another one.

I am very please that not only is it a great case already, but they improved it even for further. Starting with the camera cutout they managed to get rid of the bump (12 Pro Max model) and at least on this one it looks like the leather is from a far better hide, could just be variation and I just happened to get lucky with the quality of leather. I will do an update in 2 weeks with the aging process.

None the less I still highly recommend this great case. I promise you will NOT be disappointed.

Just got the Bullstrap sienna MagSafe case for my 12Pro. Just my luck as the thing fell out of my pocket less than 36 hours later.

Question - is there any quick fix/remedy/repair kit for fixing this type of leather “tear”?

Fwiw, obsessed with the case, quality, and feel. The thing smells like high quality leather unlike I’ve ever smelled from a phone case. Only negative so far is the magnet doesn’t seem to be as strong as I’d like :(

Long story short: is it worth fixing, is it even able to be fixed, or should I just put my OCD’ness behind me and pretend I can’t see it lol

Has anyone purchased this leather case. Never seen it before and completely unbranded and metal buttons and MagSafe compatible. Only drawback is open bottom seems like a great deal though.

I highly recommend reaching out to Bullstrap CS. My buddy had pretty much the exact same situation and they sent him a new case.

Bullstrap has lifetime warranty regardless of what happened. Both my friend and I had a small scratch on our leather cases and BS sent us both new cases without question asked. That’s why I like BS.

I personality would keep it for the battle scar where it did it's job and saved your expensive iPhone from shattering. If the leather is real (looks like it) it will heal over and basically vanish.

Plus, having your the first nick on your leather case means you can now treat it like a phone case and let it get a patina and scratched up.

If anything, you won here! It's like getting your new car it's first door ding. After that it doesn't matter as much as the first time.

Or you can treat it like an accessory that gets used and scratch them with your nail. I do it all the time on my wallet and phone case and you'd never be able to tell by looking at them.

yeah I get those white dots from setting my iPhone on tables or something. I usually just scratch it off with my nail and then it "heals" over within minutes

Really saddened by the untreated, natural wear and tear of the Apple iPhone 12 saddle brown cases. I've had every saddle brown case and this one is by far the worst. Hopefully the iPhone 13 version is better.

I always wanted a saddle brown iPhone case. When I heard about the issues with this year’s model, I was heartbroken. Huge thanks to this forum for the advice on how to patina the saddle brown leather cases for the iPhone 12. I achieved this result using a magic eraser, some sandpaper and leather conditioner.

Didn’t realize that. Just took advantage of that warranty too!
