Agreed, although the width of gap between the aluminum and the leather doesn't seem to be consistent around the edges which would bother me.

I also have a wallet from Bullstrap and would trade it for a Bullstrap case in a heartbeat since I use the Apple wallet. The leather is very nice, though.

I ruined my Bullstrap Elite case in 1 week. Put it in a car holder that clamps on the side. The aluminum frame completely caved in. So much so that the power button (on the case) won’t even work anymore. Customer service is non-existent.

It looks like this years Black leather case now called Midnight will be more of a true black.

It does look that way which is good. I am still holding off placing my orders for when people start to get them in hand starting this Friday. I am sure there will be real world pictures posted and will make my selection over the weekend.
I placed an order yesterday I’ll keep you guys updated on the quality.

I am very surprised they nixed the Saddle Brown color as it always seems to be one of the more popular cases for a more yellowish brown. If anything, they should have went with a darker brown for a change. 🤷‍♂️
Yeah I’m surprised too and if the leather coating is still as bad as the 12 series that new golden brown will age just as bad as the California poppy

Its like they took the color palette of California Poppy and Saddle Brown and said F it...why make two when we can just make them one!

View attachment 1816220Has anyone purchased this leather case. Never seen it before and completely unbranded and metal buttons and MagSafe compatible. Only drawback is open bottom seems like a great deal though.
I bought the Journey case in the end. It’s on the way from Australia, will post some pictures and thoughts when it gets here.

Seems to hit my requirement of high quality leather, no visible 3rd party logos and no plastic bumper.

What are everyone's thoughts on Nomad vs Bullstrap? From the reading I have done, it seems Nomad and Bullstrap are the top 2 choices. I'm planning to get the 13 Pro Max when it releases, and would like to get a leather case for this one. I was initially leaning heavily toward the Nomad before I saw someone mention Bullstrap on another site. Specifically, I would be looking at the Nomad Modern Leather Case in Rustic Brown (Natural seems too light, even after aging) or the standard Sienna Bullstrap (non Portfolio). I am curious about the Bullstrap Ocean color, but haven't seen anything about how it ages.

As an FYI, I tend to not upgrade often, and I don't usually swap cases. I am coming from an iphone 7+ with an Otterbox Commuter. I've had both the phone and case since the 7+ was first released in 2016.

I am looking for not only aging/patina opinions, but also durability of the case and protection capabilities (including the camera bump) of each.

They both seem to have good quality leather, but Bullstrap might be a little better? Nomad specifies Horween leather, 10ft drop protection, with a TPE bumper and closed bottom. Bullstrap doesn't really specify anything except its lifetime warranty, and it has the open bottom. They both seem to age/patina really well (although I am not one that is going to be treating it with leather conditioner often, if ever). Nomad has leather just on the back, with rubber/plastic sides, and Bullstrap is all leather. Both have MagSafe built in, how is the magnet strength in each?

One big difference right now specifically is that Nomad says they will start shipping their cases next week, so I could have it by the time I get the new phone, whereas Bullstrap says they are backordered already and won't ship until November 1.

Just my thoughts as someone wanting to get the 13 Pro, I find the selection of colour choices for the 13 Pro a bit dissapointing and actually prefer the 12 Pro’s options.

Saddle Brown has been removed from the lineup with the 13 Pro, and furthermore, unlike the 12 and Baltic Blue, there doesn’t appear to be a colour that was made to match the flagship colour - im finding it unusually hard to pick between the 13 Pros five leather options as to which one looks good with the Sierra Blue. Also not sure why there needs to be two purples, one of the slots could’ve been a blue but maybe we’ll see one in the Spring.

Am looking forward to seeing on this thread what looks good with Sierra Blue in person :)

I can only offer my view of the rugged Nomad for my 12 Pro. It’s very nice but is definitely rugged in the sense that it adds a fair bit of bulk and weight. I now only use it in rough & tumble circumstances. Not tried the Bullstrap but have my eye on their new Elite case. Currently rolling commando round the house with a fabric sleeve when out and about. Feels dangerous but you godda love that Ocean Blue 😍

WOW. I'm glad I didn't get that one, was thinking about it. Seems like a $100+ case should be able to deal with a phone holder??

I may have to try that one, that's a MUCH better price than Bullstrap.

I was looking at the Journey also before Bullstrap, but reviews for it are almost non existent. I like the MagSafe charger they have. Extra long 5ft cable, (supposedly) extra strong magnets, and a matching leather cover on it to protect your leather phone case. Plus right now if you preorder the iphone 13 case you can get the cord for 50% off.

has anyone looked at these bellroy cases yet? i think this color may be a good match with the sierra blue...

Also was looking at the journey cases but hate waiting and they arent in stock until oct 8th

so stoked for this case because i loved the forest green xs case so much. i hope the quality is better on the 13 leather than the 12.
I wouldn't get your hopes up on the last part of your comment but I have my fingers crossed as well.

For those of you curious or hopefull. The 13/13 pro case will NOT work with 12/12 pro. On the bright side the green is a really nice color and it does feel quite soft. Here are some pictures compared to my 12 pro saddle brown case

Mine is coming today and it reminds me so much of forest green. Maybe after that had a bit of patina.
And the plastic border around the camera looks thinner.
