How did you do that? I just got the golden brown and would love to make it more like saddle brown...
Saw it on YouTube. They used 400 grit sandpaper and applied virgin coconut oil. I might have overdone it but I did like 3-4 separate sessions of sanding. One of them I used leather conditioner instead of coconut oil.

Someone asked for a shot of the patina on my Midnight case at some point, somewhere and I finally got around to taking a couple.

I think the midnight is better to showcase the markings of the patina rather than the color change.

Picked up a (so-called) used Midnight leather Apple case off eBay for £16

If it's been used, it must have been for a day at most - it's basically brand new!

I love my sequoia green case but was getting annoyed at the blackened edges in daylight. As someone quite right said, this isn't leather patina, this is coloured dye wearing away.

So, gone back to classic, can't come away from the slim and perfect fit and buttons of Apple's cases. I'm surprised at how much of blue tinge it has - more so than the silicone one. I like it a lot and looks great on my 13P

For me it’s the same - tried the bullstrap again for one week but felt wrong somehow - now using the Apple Leather Case it’s so much better.

Probably i will even go back to silicone as it’s still my fav.

I have the Andar, Bullstrap, and Blackbrook. I find I like the Blackbrook because it has a flat bottom and not an edge as I rest my phone on my pinky and while the Bullstrap case is NICE the lip at the bottom hurts after awhile.

Same for my Pitaka Air that I've been using recently (that lip at the bottom hurts after awhile).

Im giving my Ryan London case some usage just so I don’t feel the money was totally wasted. I actually prefer the buttons on this case to those on Apple’s leather; the volume rockers on my Midnight case are ever so slightly cockeyed which bothers me in the slightest amount imaginable but it’s there. Those on the RL are perfect and have that slope in the leather going into the button.

The open bottom is nice but I prefer the bottom of the AL. The color is like a deep mahogany which has presented a challenge with creating wallpapers that match/blend but I’ve settled on a few that work well.

Nice! I love that rich brown. Reminds me of my bourbon Bullstrap. Question for you…how do you think a dark cherry leather link watch strap would pair with this shade of brown?

I must say that the golden orange is growing on me. Thought about sanding it and oiling it, but then decided against it cos last time I messed up a case like that.

Will see what the “natural” wear looks like on this one. Looks great with my gold 13 Pro.

To me it’s a little bit weird because all of these leather cases look so similar and close to each other that it feels somehow that all of them are made in the same factory and just get a different stamp!

K a Bull or whatever

That’s also a reason why I came back to the Apple one to me they just feel right

Agree. It definitely feels like a Bullstrap with a different logo but I’d consider that a good thing. Next phone I buy will have ONE case and it’ll be a Bullstrap Ocean.

I love my Bullstrap ocean! Right now I’m using my sienna to give it more patina. My ocean is almost black 😂. I pulled the trigger on the kings loot case. I’ll keep you guys updated when I receive it.

A buddy of mine in VA had an extra one after a warranty claim and we had discussed me purchasing (or inheriting) the extra so I just never got around to buying one this year.

How you handle the cutout at the bottom?

How about wireless charging? The Apple one looks really bad after some time!

Used the bullstrap for a week but no patina yet how do you expect - I mean - how long should it take?

Some the Apple one - i really love them - feel soooo stick!

While this did not happen with the bullstrap yet!

Welp I was getting into my truck to head to work and the phone slipped out of my pocket and fell from probably chest height onto the pavement. One corner was significantly torn but the case and phone were otherwise unscathed.

Knew I’d be seeing/feeling that gouge all night so I ran back into the house and switched back into the Midnight.

Fun while it lasted!

My golden brown forced patina update. Not sure if the leather feels as nice/soft before. I keep switching between this and the nomad rustic brown.
