The patina is gorgeous on these leather cases from BullStrap. I gave up on trying to force a patina on the apple leather case, it will never look this good. The buttons are just as clicky if not even better. The open bottom has not been an issue. Prior to the 12 series that is how the apple leather cases were designed as well,

with the exception of the iPhone 5 series.

I heard it is so so sticky in daily use. Am I right? And which color do you recommend?
It’s sticky yeah 😅 I like the grip though.

Depends on you’re iPhone color - personally i got golden brown and the sequoia green and the midnight.

Just using the midnight to be honest - most times it looks black.

I have the grey one. Yes, midnight or golden brown.

From what I have seen the golden brown is kinda ugly when patina starts because of the coating - looks also like orange not really brown.

My favorites are green and midnight - the green is subtle and looks really good.

If you got a store close to you….might give it a try and check them out.

Near my workplace is a store so Midnight is the winner.

Does anyone know what is the ingredients of the original Apple leather? Is it a vegan, or not? Similar to Bullstrap or Andar?

No unfortunately its not vegan, its genuine leather and coated.

Probably close but not similar, Antar and Bullstrap are both thicker as the apple case and got the open bottom as you are aware off I guess - magsafe is the best on the apple one if that's important to you.

If I have to rank it to MY preference it would be

Apple Leather
Apple Silicone
Bullstrap
Andar

Nomad isn't in my list as that plastic rim feels just cheap and the phone is too bulky and the buttons are terrible.

Yes, you are right. Best fit is Apple cases, but Bullstrap smells damn good and also looks/patina well. On the contrary I will give a chance for the Midnight! What about the patina of midnight?

Smells good and patinas good - but only on lighter colors, you won't see that beautiful patina on dark colors. I wouldn't buy the Bullstrap in black - but that's me.
To be honest for me the most important is the USE of the case and not the smell, patina etc that's why my Bullstrap for 120€ is collecting dust already, but I wanted to see what's all about that hype. I found out for myself its not comfortable with the open bottom for my pinky, other people prefer it because of the swap to unlock.

Maybe you are the opposite to me and you might enjoy it...to me its all about apple and I tried SO SO many 3rd party cases...even the sheath etc which as so hyped.

Sometimes I put the Bullstrap on and think how nice it is and looks but then I feel already the added bulk compared to the apple case and even if its just some mm its enough to be noticeable....and also the open bottom...as you see I really tried to like that case..😅

Yes, daily use is the most important things for me too.

Technically probably yes. In my eyes, this “midnight” colour has never really had much blue hue in the first place - certainly not as much as e.g. the midnight-coloured iPhone 13 itself.

To me, this case has looked more black than blue pretty much since day one. Just when compared directly to the older black leather cases, it may look a little bit lighter and kind of blueish.

I’ve found the photo I took of this case when it was new. See for yourself…

Yeah in the evening and some lights it’s really like dark, but in some lights it’s really blueish to me.
Even my daughter hasn’t seen any blue.
It’s just sometimes how the light hits the case, but I just wish it would be real black.

I really don’t get Apple why they dropped these colors!
Like black and saddle brown and even the white silicone case.

Tomorrow the midnight silicone case will arrive and I will try that one - to be honest I was always a big fan oft the “black” silicone case.

BTW The midnight silicone case does actually seem a tiny bit bluer than the midnight leather one, especially on a bright day. I think it’s got to do with how each material reflects the light.

Anyway, I’m with you on this one. I definitely like it more when black is just black and white is white; not always a fan of Apple’s off-colour experiments. :) A lot of people seem to like it, though. Oh well…

Looks like the blue hue fades away and gets more black - good news to me!

Can you confirm that?
I’ve had the midnight leather case for a couple of months and mine still has the blue hue. I’m actually really happy about that though as I didn’t want a plain black case and navy blue is my favorite color haha

Guys, I tried to get some information, but I didn't get the exact information: what about the sweat? For example in my pocket?

Ryan of London case arrived today; it's even nicer looking than I was expecting! The "deep brown" colour has ever so slight burgundy tones in certain light. Feels great to the touch (silicone has nothing on this). The scent from the leather is very subtle and pleasing.

This is my first leather case and I can definitely understand the appeal. The colour compliments my white 12 mini very well I think.

My only critism is that the buttons on the case are very stiff and the cutout for the silence switch is a bit too small for my thumb with my nails short. The phone sits perfectly flat on its back now and the camera hump is protected; the front lip is only barely above the screen (a pro).
