My dune case is already starting to darken 😍

I know it's just opinion and protection is important but this would look so much sleeker without any camera protector in that black leather case! The bare camera lenses would look great and the polished SS would bling like crazy

Yeah I agree.

Get that lens protector off!!

You guys were right. I took off the lens protector and the anti-glare screen protector since a bunch of white spots had appeared around the borders and it’s like I got a new phone (with a bunch of scratches on the screen 😆).

Love the clarity, hate the feel and smudges on the screen. The lenses look sharp though!

Just get a high-end glass screen protector on the front to hide those scratches and give you a new layer of oleophobic coating and you’re good 👍

12 week update on my iPhone 11 case from Geometric Goods. Shes really darkened up. Shes got a better summer tan I do! Still feels great in hand and still has a nice leather smell. I still think the rounded edges of the older iPhones are better than the square edges on the ones.... I know I'm probably alone in this but it feels so much better in hand than my iPhone 12 (RIP).

I’ve been really torn on that. I’m not a huge fan of the look but the dust and fingerprints on the bare lenses is way harder to manage.

As an aside/FYI that’s the Bullstrap Ocean, so has patina’d nicely but still has green/blue in the right light. I’ll have to get better pictures.

Edit: MOAR pictures

How long did it take to darken this much? And does it look almost black in most lighting or is it just the photos? It looks darker and more black than the "after 180 days" photo on the Bullstrap site. Tbh part of me wishes it started off lighter so that it would darken to a colour that was still very noticeably dark blue-green.

I've got the Ryan London deep brown case and I love the colour, the feel, the smell. I'm just tempted by the magsafe that my case (for the 12 mini) lacks. The Bullstrap Bourbon and Ocean colours look so nice. I just don't know whether or not I'd want to replace mine with a Bourbon one that's almost the same colour or switch it up with Ocean and alternate. Or just stick with what I've got and forget Magsafe exists.

Side note: Does removing/switching the leather cases every few days impact how well the case holds the phone?

Tomorrow will be four weeks in the case. It’s still a very rich greenish-blue in the right light. It’s really hard to get it to show in pictures but here’s my best attempt:

I think what I love the most is the "waves" effect of the Ocean case. You see it most in the first and last photos. The effect is kind blowing! "Ocean" really is the perfect name for it.

It truly is the best looking/feeling/smelling leather case available and I’m pretty upset at how much money I spent on cases before getting here, especially considering I knew it all along.

That Ryan London case looks nice. How long have you had it and what’s you opinion on buying one.

Saw a dude outside talking on his 13 Pro Max and it was a gold Pro Max in a forest green Apple leather case. It looked so awesome in person I think I might do that combo next. Reminded me of a Rolex watch!

I really like this case. To bad I don’t see it for the 13 mini.

I saw this posted a few pages ago: https://www.etsy.com/listing/878651...7130e7&ref=shop_home_feat_2&pro=1&frs=1&sts=1 - I decided to buy one for my 13 Pro Max. Reminds me a lot of the old Blackbrook cases - heavy duty soft leather.

For $44 - absolutely amazing - fits the phone really well - leather is super super soft.

Isn't Andar/Bullstrap quality but I really like the case. Buttons are thin rubber strips that work pretty well. But the leather... so soft... lol. I really like it.

I was the one posted it and was going to get one but my friend told me not to. He doesn’t think Etsy makes quality stuff. So I ended up getting a classy brown from Kings Loot after a member confirmed fitment was good. The leather from Etsy does look amazing tbh.

Do you mind taking some pics?

Hmm I guess I can just attach them here - it's definitely hand made and not Apple Case / high end $ case quality but the leather is super soft and I really like the feel of the case. Buttons work pretty good too. But I may be a bit biased because this reminds me of my old Blackbrook case that felt very similar to this.

The leather looks ruff but it's completely smooth. For the price, made in USA, feel - I'm happy :D

I may be a bit unique in this case and I totally accept that. I've had leather cases since the days of my iPhone 6+ and have participated in this thread for years. I've been disappointed with leather cases lately.

I want a leather case to be thick rugged, and soft. It doesn't have to be perfect and it shouldn't be anywhere near $100. It definitely shouldn't be waxy and paper thin.

I think I've found a case I really like.

Granted, it doesn't look as good as a Bullstrap or Andar (which are amazing great cases - I have both) but the leather is thicker, softer, and it has a rugged hand made feel/look to it.

We'll see how long it lasts.

@Kimquat - Thank you for posting the link. :D

I actually was really tempted to get one too because the leather looks like it would patina amazing. I can’t to see how it patinas. Please let me know how it turns out in the future! Might get one later down the road. Damn the leather looks amazing. Is the front frame plastic?

Not completely sure. It’s a coating or rubber like coating but very stiff. I saw on Etsy reviews that one reviewer had separation so the case probably doesn’t want to be removed frequently. :). Will do.

Anyone with the Andar Marshal case that can tell me how well it sticks to a MagSafe car mount, like the ESR Halolock?

I've had it for about 6 weeks and really like it! The leather feels great and the first thing I noticed was the wonderful leather smell when I opened the package. There's still some of that nice leather smell like your favourite belt. There's no stickiness or slipperiness. The buttons were stiff at first, but seem to have loosened up a bit so they don't require too much more effort than caseless.

The back of the 12 mini has a tendency to get hot sometimes, which is less noticeable with this case. The opening for the silence switch is a bit small, but I can still use it; just not with my thumbs right after cutting my nails short.

Only downside is that on the 12 there's no magsafe ring in the case; I believe it was added for the 13. So the magsafe charger will attach, but gets knocked off really easily. The bottom of the case is open, which I take no issue with. The lip at the bottom before the opening is rounded and soft. The mini is also light so it doesn't cut into my pinky if I'm resting the phone on it.

Overall it's a great case and would definitely recommend!
