The power button's not as tactile as the Apple leather cases, but that's my only complaint. The case feels great to the touch, and the smell is proper. The camera ring seems like metal; it's hard to tell, but it is cool to the touch.

That smell of leather hits you as soon as you open that cardboard box. It feels great in hand after a couple days of use.
Mine still stinks up the entire room of leather. lol
Oh, if only Apple's case has this leather on it. Their buttons are so much nicer. 😔

I know Apples leather case are going to age as well as previous years, but I’m really happy about the new color options. Lots of great choices this year between the new Andar cases and this new Umber color from Apple.
It is still there but definitely muted. I did not do a crazy amount of alcohol wipes.
You always find the stripes don’t you. Let’s hope it ages better than series 12/13.
Lol yeah I love the tiger stripes! They’re on my Ink leather case as well. I’m sure the dark colors like Umber and Ink will turn out decent. I recall seeing good results on last years Sequoia Green and Dark Cherry.
How did you go about finding the stripes? Check every box until you find one? I like the patterns on the leather too, makes it feel more natural.
I totally agree especially these days when apple cases don’t really patina. I honestly got super lucky with these there were one of each left. The crazy part is that a few generations back iPhone 6 series through iPhone XS I remember I would return them to the Apple Store if they came with stripes. Now it’s all I want

I agree on the power button. On mine is a bit harder to press than my volume buttons so I Macgyver-ed it and now it’s very clicky and tactile:
What was your macgyver method if you don’t mind me asking? Mines a little mushy lol.
That small piece of brown napkin paper lol. The inside part doesn't quite reach the phone power button when pressed as opposed to the volume buttons. Just needed an extra “padding”.

Yup...its kind of annoying everyone else can have their cases ready at launch. For the time being, I went with Andar which I am extremely happy with. I still have yet to cancel my Bullstrap preorder in hopes it was going to ship this week earlier than expected. When I reached out last they told me the first batch of all colors except Dune would ship 10/10 and the dune would be 10/31. Considering the price over the Andar and the Bullstrap has the bottom open, I inch closer every day to cancel but at the same time part of me still wants to see what all the hype is about with them.
Try to reach out to them. I was asking for a new case due to “cosmetic issue” (dropped the case and scratched it on the bottom pretty bad) and they immediatelly send me a new case, even a different color for which I asked. Then I didnt hear from them for 2 days and ask if there is a problem because I didnt get any link to track the shipping. And one day later they send me the link, so the case is now on its way. And I am in Europe, which is for them a bit “worse” then Canada. So my advice for you is just contact them again.
For $85 (Pro Max size), Bullstrap should have been ready on Day 1 of iPhone 14 launch.
I know that is not a logical/practical statement, but bear with me as I vent - in anticipation for next year, when I intend to purchase something from the iPhone 15 line. I do not like to have an iPhone without a case, and I don't want to have to buy a temporary case while Bullstrap gets its act together.
For those with the Andar leather cases - is it just me, or is the case REALLY hard to take off? It’s so snug that I’m terrified I’ll crease the leather..
I push from the camera hole. but yes, it's quite snug. The open bottom of Apple 6 -> X leather cases were easier to slip off.
Wow, yeah. I just cut a really small piece of paper towel and put it in that area and it makes it a lot better. Thanks for the idea.
I was comparing it to my Bullstrap case for my old phone and was really bummed about the power button being so mushy. This gets it closer to the Bullstrap, but I'm still keeping my Bullstrap pre-order as those never disappoint me.
