Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Midnight still isn’t a true black this year, it still has some subtle blue undertones.
I don’t have a Midnight case from last year to compare though.

I’d say there is ever so slightly more of a blue hue IRL than there appears in these photos.

The buttons are more of a reference true black.

The Space Black bezels are also a lot darker than Midnight this year.

See…. I’m not seeing any blue there haha

Almost 7 months in with Golden Brown (no special treatment just everyday use). I don’t know if I still like it… 😵‍💫 If I could choose again, I would definitely go with a darker color, dark cherry or midnight.

I like the way that Golden Brown came out. I bought the Ink color but I'm going to get an Umber one too and see which one I like better. I'm not sure how Umber willl look with the Deep Purple phone.

Here’s my collection. From left to right:

1. iPhone X Apple leather case. Used 2 years.
2. iPhone 12 Pro Apple leather case. Attempted to force additional patina by lightly sanding shortly after buying. Used about 8 months.
3. iPhone 12 Pro Bullstrap leather case. Used approximately 3 months.
4. iPhone 13 Pro Bullstrap leather case. Used 1 year.

It does have a navy hue to it, almost like a dark slate blue. Despite this it really has really grown on me. Here it is under direct sunlight:

Everyone needs to contact bullstrap and request a version without the stamped logo. I’d be happy to pay $15 more for a clean case

Supposedly, their case is seemingly identical to the Ryan of London cases according to someone who has owned both for 13. Seemingly from the same factory or something and only the logos are different.

Ryan of London does not stamp a logo on the back.

My 13 Pro Midnight leather case in the afternoon sun - there is plenty of dark blue coming out of the case

Like just a bumper with the back glass open? Not sure I understand. Most leather cases cover the back and antenna frame. Nomad is not the norm with their ugly rubber frames.

No, I mean that the lip on the front of the phone. On apple cases it lays on the metal frame, not over like the nomad for example

My Bullstrap started to darken around that point; as long as there’s no paint flaking, I’d say it’s a sign it’s a quality leather. I’ve yet to see that on any leather case from Apple so it makes me wonder if it’s caused by different PH levels in people’s sweat/oils.

I picked up a clear Tuff8 case for my 14 Pro Max (gold). Ended up getting an Apple Leather Ink case today and I really really like the colour of it.

Glad I returned mine - that will soon turn into a mess based on my exerience of the later generation of iPhone cases. The corners and edges turn a worn looking matt black. Shocked it is going so quickly, I would return it if you can for what they cost.
