This is a weird question, I know a lot of you guys love the patina look, but is there a way to avoid it? I just recently picked up a Sattle brown case for my XS max and I like the color a lot I don’t want it to have the patina look with the black edges it just looks dirty imo, anyone here found a way to avoid the look by using some kind of cleaner?

Yes there is. Well, here in the UK at least. I’ve had the saddle brown for past iPhones. I now have an XR and sadly Apple don’t make a leather case.

You can restore the colour to almost, or sometimes as good as new, by using a renovating polish. It’s made for shoes and contains a dye. This one matches Apples saddle brown well:

Dasco Renovating Polish - Light Tan https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00GN6XZ2A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_WfnJCb0AXBZ74

You’ll need several applications of this polish but with a little time will bring back the colour of a leather case.

GUYS! NEW COLORS! Are you going to hurry the patina along or let them go naturally?

Not sure I dig the new colours to be honest.

The battery case for Xs and XS max only has a new colour also. Very girly though, no dark blue which is disappointing.

They do have a nice mint green silicone though

I've recently bought two cases for iPhone X from Walmart and leather doesn't look like natural leather...it't thinner and lighter. I know because I owned Apple leather case from apple store. Anyone with same experience? As I can see those iPhone X cases with thin leather is sold by Amazon too.

Man I’m not too much of a fan of them for the spring colors. I really miss electric blue

Have to 100% agree - the colours are awful.....

Additionally, the new blue colour - 'Cornflower':

Looks EXACTLY the same as their existing Cape Cod Blue:

Just got a saddle brown case and I'm really excited to get the patina going, I tried a corner to see if I can accelerate it like I did for my midnight blue and kinda realized that it being lighter is much more different for accelerating with coconut oil.

The black case has had about 2 months of use(maybe more I lost track), while the midnight blue has had a month of use.

Got a little collection starting for my watch, and phone depending on what I'm wearing now.

Anyone have the Mujjo case for the XR? I've had it for about a month, and it shows virtually NO wear or oil absorbed. Was hoping to have it naturally patina, like the Apple saddle brown I had for my old iPhone 6, but it's looking like I may need to take some sandpaper and oil to it to help it along... Would be interested to hear anyone's thoughts...
Have had mine on for three months, edges are beginning to darken, haven’t done anything to it apart from hold it with hands. Will post pictures shortly. How is yours getting on?

got the cornflower, its more a muted sky blue, I'm returning it tomorrow, it looks bad and honestly smells really bad too, the ink the used to dye the leather is just bad smelling, going to either get midnight blue, forest green or product red or nothing.

What black watch strap is that? The leather one?

How did you get yours already? Every store near me won't even release until Monday

I’d say the Cornflower is more like a leather version of Azure from Spring 2017. But still too similar to Cape Cod Blue.

But absolutely I agree with Dino, last years spring colours were much better, I really wanted an Electric Blue leather Folio for my Xs.

I’m curious to know if the cornflower will patina into a nice, dark blue; or just look black and nasty like other lightly colored leather cases of the past. Of course only time will tell but I’m just not sure I mean ready to pull the trigger to find out.

If it could turn to something like this! ...I might give it a shot and let y’all know.
