An update for you all, Etsy escalated that he violated policy and if he does it again or even contacts me, he will be removed from their site completely. Also told me if he uses my information they would investigate and litigate as needed. Also documented the treats with my local PD has a paper trail if anything happens from this. Honestly this has been crazy 😐

Can’t believe how out of hand this got over a leather case. I hope his business collapses. Can’t treat people like that. Best of luck to you. You’ve got the community on your side.

I read all that happened. That is INSANE. I can’t believe it escalated as it did. I understand how some companies (big and small) may feel that people buy and return too much- the sellers lose out that way big time; I get that but I really don’t see how he felt that’s what you were doing or felt the need to attack you as such. Especially like that. Just wow. This whole thing could have been avoided from what I could see.

If I had someone who notoriously bought and returned and it was costing me money I just wouldn’t sell to them period.

Would rubbing a magic eraser on the back of the phone case help it patina? Trying to get my umber to patina a bit better so far it’s only dark on the sides

It will remove the coating that Apple puts on their leather. However, Apple leather cases since the 12 series haven't developed a very nice patina even with the coating removed. I had a 12 saddle brown that i removed the coating from. It started out nice, but quickly turned south and wound up in the trash.

If you want good fit and feel you go Apple. If you want your leather to develop a nice patina you go Bullstrap, Ryan London, or Andar.

How did it turn south? Thanks for the reply

It’s been about a year since I got rid of that phone. If you go through my media photos under my profile you can see it. Honestly it wasn’t great. Started out well but after 3 months it was kinda gross.
It’s cool to see the progression of it but yeah it looks a bit dirty towards the end

Yep. Those were my thoughts too. Now that I’m on Bullstrap I’m totally sold. Reminds me so much of the old Apple leather that I fell in love with and got me into leather in the first place.

Just got my YMW crazy horse case for €22 it's pretty descent with nice feel on the hand and nice clickable buttons. The leather feels like nubuck/suede. Fits very tight on the device though.
