Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

I’m a fan of the black too and posted pics some threads back on how it aged over a year. I’ve usually done black with my phones dating back to the 5s along with the Storm Grey in there when they had it a few years back. Wish they would bring it back as it’s been one of my favs. Been rocking the black mostly on my iPhone X Silver for a year and a half and it’s been my favorite combo to date. Especially when paired with my SS series 3 with Classic black buckle loop. Can’t go wrong with black. It’s classy with Silver X and stealth with Space Grey. I picked up the Saddle Brown a few months back because I like the way it patinas and wanted something different. Black is my go to but I swap after a few weeks or month or so.
My Forest Green case arrived today - delighted with it- it’s basically brand new! Doesn’t even look like it’s been used. The picture below makes it appear lighter than it is. Love how it almost appears different shades of green in different lights.
Let’s see how this ages - hoping for a nice deep green.
A bargain for £35
Grabbed a new Midnight Blue case since the one I had before didn't fit at all. It's got some strange banding but it's just more personality from the get-go. Looking forward to seeing how it ages (hopefully similar to my last one).
I’ve read this entire thread and since Apple doesn’t make a leather case for the xr I do have two bullstrap cases. I’ve had the red case for about a week and just received my sienna case today. I hope the sienna case patinas nicely.

I can’t say that I do since I’ve never been able to get to an Apple store to see how the Apple leather case feels. The crimson case has a pebble like feeling and has a lot more grip compared to the sienna case I just received. But, grip on the crimson case didn’t start developing until yesterday which has been a week since I’ve received that case. I’m assuming the leather started to absorb my hands oils giving it more grip. The sienna case feels a bit more smooth and I’m hoping with time will develop more grip after use. The sienna case is not as smooth and slippery as my nomad case which I only used for a day since I hate the way it feels. The borders of the nomad case are some sort of rubberized black borders and the back which is leather feels like suede. With the bullstrap cases the leather wraps around the entire case similar to Apple’s case. I hope this helps a bit.
Just as good if not better than Apples in my opinion. I have both the Crimson and Ocean leather cases from Bullstrap and love them. I had thought about getting the Sienna color as it’s the closest to Saddle Brown but I had already purchased a darker brown leather case from Sena that over 2 months had started to show a patina in the areas I use the case most and it kinda looks like what many peoples Saddle Browns look like after a year of use. So it seemed redundant.
They do indeed look nice! Do you happen to have pictures of the inside of the case, what material is it?
It is a suede like leather I’m assuming. I don’t have a pic of the crimson case since it’s at home, but here’s a pic of the inside of my sienna case. The inside of the crimson case is exactly like the sienna pictured, but in a deeper red than the outside of the leather on the case.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I wash my hands far too much (OCD) if you guys are getting Patina after just a few days lol
I was worried about this myself. Since I have had therapy for ocd and excessive hand washing I’ve been able to control my hand washing impulses a bit better these past few months. Now I’m using gold bond lotion to combat the constant bleeding and dryness. I live in a South Texas where these next few months will be in the mid 90’s - 100’s I should have a bit more oils on my hands and the case should start to patina.

It’s been a month, been using it every day, it still looking vibrant, but has darkened noticeably a little in the spots where my hands / fingers touch regularly

Bought a saddle brown case for my XS Max for $30 USD and loving it so far! This is about a month and a half of use. Not a big fan of the initial light color so I cheated a bit and applied a bit of vegetable oil to try to darken it faster. My question is will it get to the point where the case is pretty much 100% black?

If you scroll up you will see that it will eventually turn very dark brown but wouldn’t say black. Yours actually almost looks as dark as mine thats 10 days old!
