Thanks. Appreciate that. Too bad it is bulky and heavy. Definitely want something more like Apple’s leather case or will just go caseless This year.
The new version of Andar Aspen fits this no? But ships November.

Mind you the OG apple leather case was slippery as hell in the beginning before you broke it in. All leather will be slippery because it is leather.
On the iPhone 14 the difference was 1 gram, so 0 difference. No idea about 15 but can’t imagine there’s a huge difference.
Anybody have experience with the caramel brown alto case? I’m using the cement grey and it is by far the best case I’ve found but am thinking about getting the brown as well. It just looks very yellow in the product photos and I can’t find any customer photos. I’ve searched the thread but can’t find any pictures of the alto’s patina.
Expect the color to be pretty true to reality, as with most showcase pictures online these days. Patina will darken any full grain leather, but I personally would never go for such a color.
You can always strip the color and paint it however you want. Good quality shoe cremes, like Saphir, can darken/change a color over time due to the pigment in the creme, but it won't be instant. A good cobbler can likely repaint it for you for a small charge, so if you're in love with the case itself the color options through shoe care products is literally limitless.
The color is stripped with acetone, then you re hydrate the leather with something like Saphir renovateur and then you paint it. Depending how dark you want the color you might have to paint it several times.
This is how people repaint or add fake patina to high quality shoes. It is quite soothing for the mind to dabble with this, through the years I have collected a massive amount of shoe care products for various types of work.
No one really knows. The first batch of pre-orders went out 9/22, no word on the second batch. I'm guessing mid October.
I went ahead and got the Maverick Bullstrap case for my 14 Pro instead. I always held off on Bullstrap due to the price and I worry about drops with the open bottom but my black Apple leather case is getting disgusting. The lifetime warranty seems great, too.
Honestly, since he isn't providing exact measurements/details it is probably how it felt to him and then I'd chalk it up to gazebo effect. He ended up liking Andar Aspen more for x reason and then he projected other positive factors on it. Without a kitchen scale I'd say you would never notice the difference between 2 "regular" thin-ish leather cases.
Do they ship outside Germany now? Last I ordered from them I had to ask them nicely as they did not ship outside Germany (which is weird).
I want to test their other series.
I have the More one. Unfortunately it does not stay the same colour nor texture. It turns very dark brown and the leather turns into smooth leather. However its super durable and great quality. I have dropped my phone on asphalt and the case holds so great.
Not sure about their shipment policy. But in my case they did send to the Netherlands.

Received the official Apple silicone case. It’s very nice. Much prefer the texture compared to the Sheath. Much less abrasive in the hand.
May try Andar once they release the button cover version.

It is leather you know. Leather patina over time. That's why we're all here, because leather does NOT stay the same over time.
You write like I don't know what real leather and patina are lol.
I guess you misunderstood me or I was being too unclear. It lost its beautiful orange colour all together and it happened in just a few days. I love leather and patina but have never had any leather turn this fast. Also I got it for just that colour and the suede texture. But it transformed to something totally else. I have other leather cases but those were brown to start with and qiute the same texture before and after patina developed.
They should probably put before and after patina pictures on product site so people will know the orange suede will turn brown/black smooth leather
Ah sorry yes I saw now on their site, they only ship to a few nearby countries. I don't know why they still wont do whole Europe
Then I understood you correctly. Of course orange leather, on a phone case, will not stay orange. Orange is basically just a lighter shade of brown so it will inevitably turn into a more brownish shade.
Same goes for suede, eventually those tiny hairs will of course rub off due to friction and you're left with a smooth leather. That is why all suede shoes will be completely smooth where the creasing happens from front area bending.
Even the color changing THAT quickly can be explained, but that I feel is something that should actually be mentioned and that goes for every case manufacturer. There's very few that mention how the leather has been dyed. There's aniline dyed which happens during the tanning process and the color sits way deeper and then there's crust leather which is delivered white and then dyed after the fact, which makes the coloring way more surface based and more prone to change. Crust leather is popular for smaller volumes because they don't need to stock multiple colors of something that might not sell out that fast.
Thanks for all the info. I did find some customer pictures on Amazon for the 14 series cases and they dont look nearly as yellow. I would like to darken the cement grey one I have so I’ll look into the saphir you mentioned.
