I know I sped mine up a wee bit but i love the case so far and it feels on par with BS.

I’ve never done a forced patina but I always put a little Andar leather conditioner on my new leather cases. Makes them all soft and supple.
Not to beat a dead horse but I was reading over the return policy and stumbled across this. I think you’re right. That or they just don’t care. It’s not a mistake on the box or whatever other BS excuse they come up with. Either way I had a Bullstrap case on my 14 Pro and loved it.

Well after trying multiple leather cases for my 14PM in the hopes that I could find an alternative to Apple’s leather case over the next year before the 16PM is released, I am left with the Apple leather case back on my phone with the Ink color. Frustrated and out some money, not sure what is next.
First I tried the Andar Aspen, and the fit is good and leather is nice, but dang the weight. Nothing like Apple leather case in weight. Then came the Blue Bonnet, hard buttons, so that was a no go. Also much darker brown than on the site. Finally Bullstrap. I put in on with the tag on around the house seeing if it was a case I wanted to rock. Everyone here kept saying it would get so good over time. I really had high hopes, and cut the tag off. After 2 days I am left with going back to the flawed Apple Leather case. When using the phone I put my pinky under the phone, and the BS dung into my pinky with the open bottom but the back of the case hanging down over the bottom of the phone. That and the width, it just wasn’t comfortable in my hand. Now I am left wasting $85, and no where closer to finding a replacement. Very frustrating.
Now I guess I try and figure out how long I can make this 14PM last. Damn Apple, your getting rid of leather has really cost me.

Yeah that’s the same reason I will never buy open bottom cases. If you use your phone one handed the lip ends up digging into your pinky. It wasn’t bad on the old apple cases because the phone was curved so the bottom of the phone would rest on your pinky but with the flat sides you just end up with the lip of the case resting on it.
Yep that’s what I remember of the Apple leather cases with an open bottom, but with squared off sides and just doesn’t work. I guess Apple does know what they are doing. I am sure that’s why they switched the leather cases to fully closed.
So many people are trying so many leather cases and with similar results. Most want Apple leather cases back and there is nothing that seems to have replaced them so far. Really disappointing. I have the newer Andor and Bullstrap cases on order, but I guess I might as well cancel those too, as gets old returning cases.
Guess there is not a leather case that can replace Apple’s. Will just have to hope the FW case continues to hold up or just go naked with Apple Care. Very frustrating that Apple stopped producing them.

You might like Andar, but if you don’t want any added weight, that’s not for you. But yes the returning sucks. I am so tired of the process of returning. If it’s from Amazon, the returns are super easy, but these other guys it’s such a pain. I can’t believe I wasted $85.
It’s a real shame what Apple did. Their logic makes zero sense. Hell we aren’t asking for amazing leather quality. We all know it’s gonna age pretty bad, but it didn’t matter. We just know how comfortable they are, and know it fits perfect. I am all for helping the environment, but this really makes no sense to me.
So you’re rocking the FW? Did you initially like the feel of the case, or did it have to grow on you? My plan was to get the 15PM, but I ordered the FW and couldn’t ever like the feel of the back. It was so weird to me. Maybe I didn’t give it enough time.
Andar will not be for me then, as really don’t want any added weight from the Apple FW or previous leather cases.
On the FW case, I thought it wear really quickly, but after about 3 plus weeks now, it still looks new. I think it feels fine once you get used to it, but still wish Apple had the leather cases, as I like that feel better and also think their leather can take a beating more. We shall see how the FW holds up over time.
This particular line is ironic becuase a good 75% of people on this forum absolutely hammered apple for their leather quality and how badly it aged.
You may not have been one of them.
But now they're gone there's a hell of a lot of those people wanting them back as they realise that the competition actually isnt all it's cracked up to be.
100% agree with all of that. My thought was if I got the 15PM there isn’t a 1 of the 3rd party leather cases that I could daily. FW was the only 1 I could consider, and I choice to keep the 14PM then. The Apple leather is worth that to me. Plus the deep purple was my favorite pro color Apple has done, so why not keep it.
Crazy the Apple leather case was that good for me.
I think their marketing "team" is just the two founders.
Nope never once bashed Apple leather cases. In fact I am one of the people that defended them to no end. I got bashed for defending them here. I will always stand behind the Apple leather case. I don’t love how it ages, but it feels fantastic in my hand. That’s all I care about. And the Ink color looks great with my phone.
I guess the people that bashed them and now want them back, they see how being made by Apple with the device in hand to test goes a long way. These 3rd parties just can’t come close to the fit for the iPhone.
I personally am happy they got rid of the leather cases because I probably would have just bought another black one for my 15pro. Apple getting rid of leather forced me to have to look at alternatives which is what I should have done after my saddle brown case for my 12 looked like garbage after a few months. I ended up just accepting the lower quality case and buying a dark color to avoid the black edges. The keyway case I got has better leather and actually will patina and only cost me $43. Sure I’d like it more if it was 27 grams like apples and didn’t have the X on the back but overall it’s a better case. You also have more companies getting into leather cases which will give us more options. I’m really excited to see what the bare skin case is like as they are known for minimalist cases.
