Hi, I’ve ordered a couple of days ago a new bare skin case…

I’ve tried to reach them via email and in their website because I’ve noticed an error in the shipping address…but they didn’t answer!!

So far not satisfied with their CS…let’s see if the case arrives 😅

@Bare Cases I’ve seen you’re active here in this thread… please contact me if you read this!!

Hey! Thanks for supporting us! Sorry to hear you’ve yet to receive a response. Customer service usually takes 1-3 business days to reply. I’ve dropped you a DM too, so let’s get in touch there to expedite this ✌🏼

I get that Bullstrap said that their cases are full grain leather and that they made a simple mistake on their boxes labeling it “top grain.” But why do they have it plastered all over their Amazon store front that their cases are top grain leather?
Unless they changed things in the past year, I’m certain Bullstrap uses top grain leather for phone cases and full grain leather for their bags.

My history of Apple leather cases/nomad/keyway

Slate grey for iPhone X - used from new for 18 months

Forest Green for iPhone 11 pro - used from new for 12 months

Saddle brown for iPhone 12 Pro max - forced patina used for 12 months

Dark cherry for iPhone 13 Pro - forced patina used for 8 months

Golden brown for iPhone 13 mini - forced patina used for 18 months

Nomad Rustic brown horween for iPhone 15 pro max - forced patina as rustic brown was too dark to begin with used alcohol to lighten to English tan colour the used from day one to present as it’s my everyday work case

Keyway full leather in whiskey for iPhone 15 pro max - 1 week old will not be doing any forced patina on this case as I’m very happy with the colour and quality of leather, will be using it for weekend only as I have my nomad which is more suitable for work

As you can see I’m very sad Apple got rid of their leather cases and wallets, fine woven will never be a replacement for the way the genuine Apple leather cases felt and fit

Anyways enjoy the patina!

Wow you did such a good job with the Nomad, I thought it was English Tan colored to begin with

They’ve tanned the leather quite dark but after I “cleaned” off the dye with alcohol I discovered it was quite light underneath, I wouldn’t be surprised if English tan was a less processed form of rustic brown tbh

I guarantee I would mess it up
It's not as difficult as you'd think. You'd need special leather dye though. You'd strip the color with acetone first and I mean really f*ck that case up, almost until there is no color of any sort left. Then you'd paint it, multiple layers depending on how dark you want it. Then condition the leather. If you mess it up you can always start over with acetone, since it's a very light color you're doing.

Just go on youtube and find shoe patina videos, it's the same thing but on a shoe. I can recommend channel The Elegant Oxford for that.

Yeah, I sent them an email to inquire about it. Hoping it's just an issue with this one and not just how they are. Agreed that doesn't look up to snuff, especially on a nearly $90 case.
update: they’re sending out a replacement. Didn’t ask for the other one back either which is nice. Thumbs up from a customer service standpoint at least.

That’s a really nice collection there!
The green 11 pro with the forest green leather case was my favorite combo by far. I should have skipped the 12 mini and kept that combo for another year.

I had an Ink one but upgraded to 15PM so I've moved on to Nomad English Tan, also had a Forest Green but didn't like it with the purple phone, looked too much joker like
Forest Green with a Purple 14Pro looks awesome, especially with an Umber Wallet. Love the combo 😀

anyone by any chance that ordered a leather bare case receive theirs yet? the long wait time between ordering and delivery is starting to be a bit of a drag. I got a USPS tracking number last week for mine but the status still says awaiting pickup, with no expected delivery date

Received my ymw grey “Napa leather” case from aliexpress this weekend. This is not leather. It feels terrible and smells like chemicals. I’m surprised I’ve seen positive reviews for this case. Weight is not bad (33 grams for 15 pro) and the buttons are great but I wouldn’t recommend this case if you’re looking for real leather. It has more of a plastic feel than anything.

3 week update
Keyway in slate is starting to darken around the sides. It's also softening and more grippy, no longer the slippery bar of soap it was when I first got it. The patina is a bit on the fast side, but looks great so far. Hopefully it will retain some of the color at the 1 year mark.

I’m in the same boat, left Hong Kong on the 10th. No USPS updates and i am moving in 7 days so I really hope I get it before then.
