I’m in the same boat, left Hong Kong on the 10th. No USPS updates and i am moving in 7 days so I really hope I get it before then.
Same. I don’t have the international tracking but my USPS tracking shows USPS Currently Awaiting Package.

Andar goodies came in today 🥰

Still not sure how I feel about the red leather, but wanted to try a new leather color this year. I might consider another aspen in Moss or Grey to go with my Helm case

The red looks great! I wasn’t crazy about the aspen but I was tempted to order the red back when they were having their sale. I’m sure once it darkens to a deep maroon it will look even better.

Received my ymw grey “Napa leather” case from aliexpress this weekend. This is not leather. It feels terrible and smells like chemicals. I’m surprised I’ve seen positive reviews for this case. Weight is not bad (33 grams for 15 pro) and the buttons are great but I wouldn’t recommend this case if you’re looking for real leather. It has more of a plastic feel than anything.
If you know specifically Nappa leather, you'll know this is the real deal.

I have the same; it smells like leather, it's wearing in like leather, it absorbs leather milk, like leather and feels like leather. I work in the motor trade which deals with high end marques of car and I am confident in saying that the YMW Nappa is virtually identical to the Nappa leather used on these cars' interiors.

Maybe you got a duff.

Leather milk? You're not supposed to put creames or balms on nappa leather, if it's actual nappa. You'll end up with all the tiny hairs/fibres just being flat.

Opinion I assume as you can indeed use cleaners and conditioners on Nappa; but you have to be careful which ones.

In my instance, the milk I used is specifically an automotive detailing milk made only for Nappa.

Found this also (there may be other opinions and methods out there)

HOW TO CLEAN NAPPA LEATHER

One of the essential aspects of caring for your Nappa leather items is regular cleaning. Because of its soft and absorbent nature, Nappa leather can be susceptible to stains and grime. Here's how to clean and care for your Nappa leather goods to keep them looking their best:

1. Regular Dusting: Dust can settle on the surface of your Nappa leather goods, dulling their shine over time. Use a dry, soft cloth to regularly wipe down the leather and keep it free from dust and dirt.

2. Immediate Spill Cleanup: As soon as a spill occurs, use a dry cloth to blot (not wipe) the liquid. This action should minimize absorption and prevent a potential stain. Avoid rubbing, as this can spread the liquid and cause it to seep deeper into the leather.

3. Use Specialized Leather Cleaner: For stains or accumulated grime, use a specialized leather cleaner. Apply a small amount of the cleaner on a soft cloth, then gently rub it over the stained area in a circular motion. Always test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn't cause discoloration.

4. Let Air Dry: If your Nappa leather item becomes wet, let it air dry naturally. Never use heat, such as a hairdryer or placing it near a heater, as this can dry out and crack the leather.

5. Conditioning: Nappa leather benefits from periodic conditioning to keep it soft and supple. Use a high-quality leather conditioner, applying it sparingly with a soft cloth. Always test the conditioner on a hidden area first.

6. Professional Cleaning: For stubborn stains or when in doubt, it might be best to take your Nappa leather goods to a professional. They have the skills and appropriate tools to clean and restore your items without causing damage.

Remember, the key to keeping your Nappa leather items looking their best is regular and proper maintenance. By spending a little time on upkeep, you'll ensure your Nappa leather continues to look luxurious and last for many years.

HOW TO CONDITION NAPPA LEATHER

Conditioning Nappa leather is an essential step in maintaining its softness, flexibility, and overall luxurious appearance. Below are steps you can follow to properly condition your Nappa leather goods:

1. Clean First: Before you begin conditioning, ensure your Nappa leather item is clean. You can follow the cleaning steps mentioned earlier to remove any dirt or dust that may have accumulated on the surface.

2. Choose a High-Quality Leather Conditioner: Not all leather conditioners are the same. Opt for a high-quality conditioner that's suitable for Nappa leather. When in doubt, it's always a good idea to seek advice from the manufacturer or a leather goods professional.

3. Test on a Hidden Area: Just like with the leather cleaner, you should always test the conditioner on a small, inconspicuous area of the leather item. This step is necessary to ensure that the conditioner won't cause any discoloration or damage.

4. Apply Sparingly: Apply the conditioner sparingly on a soft cloth, then gently rub it into the leather in a circular motion. It's important not to overdo it. A little conditioner goes a long way, and applying too much can cause the leather to become overly soft or oily.

5. Let it Absorb: Allow the conditioner to absorb into the leather for about 10-15 minutes, then wipe off any excess with a dry cloth. It's important not to use the item immediately after conditioning. Giving the conditioner ample time to penetrate the leather will yield the best results.

6. Regular Conditioning: Depending on how frequently you use the item and your local climate, conditioning your Nappa leather goods every 2-3 months can help maintain their plushness and prevent them from drying out.

Remember, while conditioning your Nappa leather is essential, it's just as important to use the right products and not over-condition. With the correct care and attention, your Nappa leather items will remain soft, lustrous, and last a lifetime.

If you look for supposed nappa leather in cars, it's usually not actual nappa.

@iFone88 I should probably specify that I made the assumption that you meant nubuck, which most people call nappa leather. Napa, if the term is used correctly, is for leather like kidskin and lambskin, and has not been sanded down like nubuck has.

Napa should absolutely be nourished with creames or balms, nubuck is nourished with sprays.

Take Alcantara for example, which is a nubuck-like material. But car people tend to call this nappa, for some reason.

Fair enough.

Alcantara is a completely different material compared to Nappa/Napa in my opinion.

Alcantara is more of a suedey leather where as Nappa/Napa, smooth/slightly textured.

I wouldn't even mention the two in the same breath. Alcantara is a pain to clean!

Just received a leather case for my iPhone 12 Pro from Good Wilhelm. As soon as I opened the package I smelled the leather immediately. Really really high quality case and amazing customer service. They’re based in Germany - the case cost €50. Looking forward to seeing the natural patina show over time (I’ve attached some photos I uploaded to reddit).
Can you post some new pictures about the patina? I am considering buying the case as well… Thanks! 🙏

Since it is vachetta leather the patina will be amazing if left alone. I posted a few days ago that I'm tempted to order one from them and just let my Ryan London collect dust.

The owner of the company said you can write in the order comments that you want the case in smooth leather, like their bi-fold wallet. This is what makes me really tempted.

I find Andar aspen pretty slippery.. I don’t really like the coating… feels like Apple leather case, except much slippery… Is Andar really using full grain…?

Leather cases are slippery, always. Gets a little better with time though.

My red apple leather 12 pro case did not age well.

Hope you have better luck with yours!

Which color phone would you be pairing the red case with?

I ordered an AliExpress Apple knockoff last week and it just arrived, a week after I ordered.

Overall, not bad! £10 including shipping. No idea how good the leather is and it is a little thicker than the official Apple I had on my 13 Pro but it’s definitely not bad at all!

Camera bump is pretty much identical to Apple, only difference is the buttons aren’t really recessed like Apple’s.

Overall though, I prefer it in fit and feel to the Mujjo which is almost 6X the price…!

It’s possible I could have just gotten a bad one. The chemical smell has gotten a little better after a few days but still overpowers any leather smell. It’s definitely not a full grain nappa leather as there is no grain structure, just small perforations. Here a close up of my case and my nappa leather theater seat as a comparison. Maybe they sanded down the leather and then perforated it for constistancy but it doesn’t feel as good as any of the full grain leather cases I’ve used or anywhere close to the feel of the apple leather case. It also doesn’t feel nearly as soft as any of the nappa leather I’ve felt.

3 week update
Keyway in slate is starting to darken around the sides. It's also softening and more grippy, no longer the slippery bar of soap it was when I first got it. The patina is a bit on the fast side, but looks great so far. Hopefully it will retain some of the color at the 1 year mark.
Looks great. I took delivery of my Keyway Whiskey yesterday, and you're right.. "bar of soap" it truly is. I really wanted the Slate, but still OOS. It is a nice case, buttons are a bit edge sharp but other than that it's stellar for the $$$. I'll have to give mine some time to get some grip, it needs it for sure!

I love the Aspen cases and have several. There is always an adjustment period where they feel really slippery at first, but then they get a nice feel on 'em.

FWIW, the little perforations are smoothing around the edges and corners on mine

Napa leather is not one and the same animal. It can for example be kid(baby goat), lamb or deer. So that your chair has some kind of structure does not mean much in terms of verifying your case. The small perforations are pores, though they look clogged on your aliexpress case, which could mean it has been surface treated. If it was not full grain, but instead top grain, you'd most likely not see any pores at all.

Chrome tanned leather smells more chemically than vegetable tanned leather, maybe that's the reason.

It took mine a few days to develop some grip. Yours will get there too.
