Any way to restore or lighten the patina on saddle brown case? Mine has turned almost black on the edges and corners and is a deep brown on the back. Pictures attached. Pictures have come a little lighter than the case actually looks at the time.

Ugh - Had my 6 Plus for almost 5 years and it was in pristine condition when I traded it in. I probably dropped it twice the entire time, TPU case keeping it safe.

Less than a week with the 11 Pro Max, and yesterday I completely missed my pocket and got two dings on opposing corners of the saddle brown case. Very lucky that nothing happened to the phone. While I grimace at the sight of my new case being damaged - I'm more concerned that any protective integrity (the inner plastic shell?) is compromised. Any thoughts?

That looks clean!!!

Perfect! For me much better look then all green combination here.

Thanks guys, the case and phone blend so nicely. iPhone 11 Pro main selling point (for me) = Night Mode and as I’m going to be taking heaps of photos in dark conditions, I picked a really stealthy colour combo with the dark Space Grey and Black Leather - love it. Texture is butter smooth.

Will look at getting that Meyer Lemon though to lighten up when it’s summer in a few months here (I’m from Australia)

I don’t think a protector or weather proof leather solution would help the leather age quicker since the solution would essentially be protecting the leather as it sits now. From what I’ve read the quick patina comes from normal use and from the natural oils of your hands. You could possibly try a mink oil to help darken the case quicker.

I used Smith’s all natural leather balm on my BullStrap case with a lot of success. I haven’t applied any to my 11 pro Apple saddle brown case yet. I’m not sure if I will seeing is how the edges of my case are already starting to show signs of patina. The back of my case where my hands naturally sit has started to darkened a tiny bit so far. I may put a thin layer of the Smith’s balm on over the weekend to see how it works on the Apple case.

For what it’s worth, I did apply a couple coats of Red Wing mink oil to my saddle brown 11 case. The color change from the mink oil itself was nonexistent to minimal, and the case is darkening from use/wear after a week anyway. (I think it did vastly improve the odor, though... Wouldn’t rule out confirmation bias combined with off-gassing of whatever treatment/adhesive/internal substances they use, but I thought the change was pretty immediate upon application.)

One week in. Is the patina developing to quickly? I admit I’ve been handling my 11 pro quite a bit more than usual.

The first pic if when first received the case after preorder around the 15th or 16th of September and it stayed in the box until launch day.

You’ve convinced me to apply a coat of my Smith’s leather balm. I may sit the case out in the sun for a few minutes per the instructions on Smith’s website. I like their product since they use three organic ingredients in their balm.

Got my 11 Pro today, and coming from a Silver XS, absolutely loving the Space Grey finish.

As for the case, this time to start with, went for an all-black setup.

adding another pic, here’s one with the display on. I think it blends quite well with one of the new dark mode wallpapers that came with the phone

Can someone who has the midnight green iPhone and the black leather case post a pic please?

I’m digging this setup a lot. I think the black leather case would also make a good combo for the space gray. I may have to pick one up for my sg 11 pro. It has a rugged/polished look to it. If that even makes sense.

I’ve posted this before I think but this is what’s stopping me buying the black case. Looks more grey? Or was mine just an “off” one. This next to my XS Max one.

My old XS Max and X black leather cases started off that kinda shade of grey -
Yours probably did too?

They blacken after a few days use -
You can’t compare a brand new case to one that looks like it’s been used for quite some time.

Yeah that’s definitely a big difference in color from last year to this year.

As someone who’s currently rocking the black 11 Pro leather case, I think this is a good thing - should see an actual difference / some variation in the ageing process.

Picked up my 11 Pro Max & the stunning Apple Saddle Brown leather case yesterday; think I’m currently more in love with the saddle brown leather than the iPhone itself! Hahaa

Is anyone using any kind of tempered glass for wrap to protect their camera housing. I recently noticed my 11 Pro Max has a small hair line scratch in between the tele lens and ultra wide

Loving the yellow color but I’m a little worried about how it ages. Have you tried any leather conditioners for bright apple cases?
