Was just at the store. Here’s the Meyer Lemon case. And damn that is actually a really nice case, anyone else reminded of the Sunflower leather case for the iPhone 7?

It looks very nice. How do they age though? I always think they turn black around the edges.
Yeah, after 3 years and the occasional drop (with absolutely not a mark on my 6S) my saddle/tan leather case has gone black at the corners. As the entire case has darkened over the years it's not really noticeable. I do sometimes think of getting some brown shoe polish and seeing if I can touch them up, but they're not bad enough for me to risk messing the colour up.

For a brighter coloured leather case (e.g. the yellow above) it'd be more obvious if the corners blackened slightly, but I reckon it'd still look ok - just worn/used.

Got the Saddle Brown leather case for my 11PM, as I always do.

Which colour phone did you get? I returned my saddle brown and I didn’t like how it went with my midnight green. I know it’s only where the cameras are but have gone for the Forrest green.

Going to get the Saddle Brown, and trying get a Space Gray iPhone to match with it; but I think either Silver or Gold would also go great with Saddle Brown, don't you think?

Midnight Green is hard to match with Saddle Brown, unless you want a military/industrial look. Hahaa

Do you guys apply a leather protector solution prior to using the case? I wonder if that’ll help it age better.

I don’t think a protector or weather proof leather solution would help the leather age quicker since the solution would essentially be protecting the leather as it sits now. From what I’ve read the quick patina comes from normal use and from the natural oils of your hands. You could possibly try a mink oil to help darken the case quicker.

I used Smith’s all natural leather balm on my BullStrap case with a lot of success. I haven’t applied any to my 11 pro Apple saddle brown case yet. I’m not sure if I will seeing is how the edges of my case are already starting to show signs of patina. The back of my case where my hands naturally sit has started to darkened a tiny bit so far. I may put a thin layer of the Smith’s balm on over the weekend to see how it works on the Apple case.

I think the saddle brown cases look ugly on all colour this year, because of that camera square

If you're someone thats big on Apples cases as I am, maybe think of getting the Space Grey or Silver iPhone 11 Pro. These colours are the most 'neutral' (and thus, most compatible) pretty much all of Apples case colours will go well with them. Same rhetoric with the Stainless Steel Apple Watch and bands :)

Just want to give a warning for anyone wanting to get the new Meyer Lemon case. The first case I got and took home was defective... as you can see there are two light colored lines running across the case. I took the case back to the Apple store and they opened 3 more cases with different defective “white” lines. One had 1 line and another had up to 3 in different angles. I understand that leather can have its imperfections but this didn’t feel natural. It wasn’t until the 4th one that I got a non defective case. The Apple associate said they will send it in to get it checked. I’ve owned a leather case since it came out and this is the first time I’ve seen this issue. Just FYI...

A month and a bit on and the case has darkened a bit - not massively.

It’s hard to get a picture showing it’s true colour as it appears different in different light. Indoors, it’s a nice deep green and outdoors it’s a lot lighter.

Pic below shows it probably a few shades lighter than it is. Looks awesome against my gold XS Max

I think the forest green case with the midnight green iPhone is the best looking combination. I tried the saddle brown case and it just didn’t match that well. Hopefully the forest green case will patina nicely.

Me too. I sent my saddle brown one back. Have the Forrest green. Think the black may go with the green also.
