Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Hmm I’m not sure I like the camera ring. It looks absolutely nothing like the one in their pictures. How does it feel?
If you are going leather go all the way in. Don’t fall for these plastic cases with leather skins.
Meh. I say the Nomad cases with the TPU sides feel amazing. Opinions are great.
And if you want/need more protection than leather alone can provide.... ?
I presume the limitation is whomever is the OEM for eh BS, RL, cases etc....but any reason why the closed bottom cannot be made with a leather wrapped camera ring. I hate the plastic/metal ones that just stick out of place
Count your self lucky at least you’ll have your case tomorrow, it only arrived to my freight forwarder today and I’ve just organised my case to be shipped out now to Australia but that’ll take another 10 days judging on how long my whiskey case took
Your presumption seems most plausible; that’s how the Chinese supplier makes them so that’s how RL et al sell ‘em. The vast majority of these case “manufacturers” are just resellers of mass produced Chinese products. The existence of AliExpress is finally making them show their asses as simply middlemen with a tidy 100% up charge.
Is it creaking on the sides? A lot of my cases have done that and have gone away with a day or two of use. That said I feel your frustration with BS as of late.
Mine was shipped a day ago so i’m waiting excitedly. How are the buttons on it?
Ryan London definitely use their own leather, they’re handmade. The basic case underneath might be the same but they certainly aren’t Chinese rubbish, I’ve seen their work first hand.

I got the black RL closed bottom. It arrived today. It feels really premium, nothing like what’s on AliExpress from ymw etc. will patina quite nicely also. You can really tell which cases are similar to the ones on AliExpress also.
Exactly you can tell RL make their own cases and see they are handmade the finish on the cases is extremely premium.
I got saddle brown again, debated on black but I didn’t think I’d use it much since on my 14pm i bought the black BS case and used it for a week and never touched it again.
Just got my Keyway olive case and it feels great but the color doesn’t display as much “green” as it does in the pictures on the site, it feels more brown than green. Still a great case though just wish it was more green like in the pictures but I’m not mad at it. Packaging is premium and it came with stickers so that’s cool!

Keyway Olive in the house. Fit & finish on par with my Whiskey, color is really nice. No flaws, buttons work great and camera trim ring is a perfect fit too. All in all it's a keeper. Pics to follow.
But, the Elephant in the room has stomped his feet. I didn't pay any attention to the first unit I bought, but this one I did. Sure enough, made in CHINA. Here I thought they were made in Canada. Nope. Just like a previous poster stated.. most of these companies are using China for production, give it their branding and hike up the price. Still, $42 shipped for this one is fairly reasonable, but sad to see it's not a North American made product.
Guess I should've paid more attention on the first purchase. I still like Keyway's products none the less.
Edit: After pondering this for a bit, it's really moot. It's not like the iPhone isn't made in China, or my glass screen protector. They really do make some nice stuff over there. Same as in the firearms optics world. Holosun, SwampFox, Arken, etc.. they're really, really hard to beat for the $$$. And top notch to boot.

Edit: I can't see any of the displayed "wonk-i-ness" in the iPad potato pics show here. To the naked eye, it's perfect. Man, the iPad 9th gen rear 8MP camera leaves a LOT to be desired! I guess I need to break out the old Nikon D7k for some decent product shots. Like the old days. 😕

Yes aluminum. I lumped it in with steel. Should have gone with metal.

Hmm honestly looks like you got the Slate and not Olive from your pictures.
