This years 11 pro black/charcoal haha definitely has good grip, not slippery at all,

On this exact topic can someone tell me why do the cases in each colour have different textures? Black and Forest Green have this really lovely butter smooth premium leather feeling texture but the Midnight Blue's are all sandpaper rough that also scratches easily... why?

My midnight blue feels nothing like sandpaper and has no scratches. I can't answer your question but I'm sure it has more to do with manufacturing batches than the color of the dye on the leather.

Picked up the saddle brown case, liking it so far. You can see it’s darkened on the sides, hopefully it’ll even out a bit more

My navy was buttery smooth, but more prone to showing scratches the first day. The green one had more of a leather texture, which I preferred.

Anyone else using the Apple folio for the pro max ? How do you like it compared to the nine flap ?

I took the plunge and bought a saddle brown case for my iPhone X in September 2018... almost exactly a year later, I upgrade to the 11 Pro Max, and got the same saddle brown leather case.

Comparison photo is attached.

I expedited the X case a slight bit, by taking some 800 grit sandpaper and lightly removing the coating from the factory, and then applying leather balm over the case for two days in a row.

I’m going to let the 11’s case naturally do it’s own thing.

I got one but returned it, i like it but the $199AUD price tag got the better of me, i had one for my X that i got cheap used off ebay, and really liked it especially for travelling, did a trip to NZ with it, not so much for work as i use a brodit car holder and the flap doesn't work with it.
Might wait for one on sale or ebay again.

No idea, i have found in past years though the saddle brown was always more slippery, but i only get black now as i am not a patina fan on the apple cases, looks more like grime to me, not like a better leather like nomad brown that my wife has on a Xr, it looks great aged.
The Apple just fit so nice and great in the hand though.

on this very discussion, I’m from Australia too.

The Leather Folios this year on the smaller phone have seen a steep increase in price. The same Folio case for the X and Xs (non max) was $149AUD. Now on the 11 Pro it’s $199.

Has something about the Folio changed for the better or is it just more gouging on Apples part? Only two colours too this time, instead of the handful the Xs and X had.

The Apple case can in fact take a lot of wear and tear too. I put on and take the case off multiple times daily (I only use the case for the car, with the magnet inside the case for the mount), and the Apple leather case still looked perfect after months of this.

I was going to get the Louis Vuitton folio, but looking at pics of them after a year, the canvas seems to split, crack and rip without fail. I guess it was never designed to take that amount of usage. Pretty interesting as I think LV canvas wallets hold up really well, but I'm pretty sure they're not opened and closed nearly as much as a phone folio case would be.

Nope its exactly the same as the X one i had. More like our dollar but $50 more is a lot. My wife has the Nomad rugged folio in brown, it's half the price, no on and off with the cover though.

I can't compare to the Nine Flap (as I've never heard of that brand). When I go on vacation, I love my folio. It keeps a couple cards and my ID nice and accessible. My husband stuffs way too much in the pocket and it looks bulky and odd. I'm not a big fan of it as a daily driver though because it is a little heavy.

Wow, I didn't think the MG would be a match for the Saddle Brown but it is starting to grow on me. I ended up with the MG leather and love it but I may pick the SB for a change. Target is actually selling them for $39.
