Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Does anyone have experience with this brand? It's called Maogoam and is available in Amazon (UK)
Looks almost like Andar (unfortunately Andar isn’t available in UK.I have RL shop 20 minutes away from me,but I prefer Andar because RL open bottom is too bulky on 16PM and closed bottom isn’t the same quality as OB in my opinion ). I'm still looking for a good leather case.

are there no updates on leather cases with camera button? it's like neutriing the experience of that button. I am back to the slippery mess of beats case. it had almost become a fidget toy at the moment tbh lol. dunno when but when I will have that leather case with the button in my hand, I won't rest easy lol. like come on case makers, get your **** together and add that stupid button and that's when I will feel whole.....jk

Ryan London is releasing one with a CC button soon.

oh my gawd here's your high iq level guy. he thinks I didn't think of that scenario; but he was not intellectual to the point where he would understand the question if there were to have an update after that or at least start a talk about it. sure sir, I will use sea, nah.

I am sorry, but what in the world saying? I was answering your question. There is a whole page of back and forth talking about Ryan London adding a CC button to their Closed bottom cases. There is no point and answering this question over and over every time someone comes to ask about the button for leather cases. A simply search in this thread will answer this question. You aren’t the first person to ask this.

Well I'm sad to report that after 4.5 months my LC broke. I was taking it off to clean some dust and lint out of the charge port that I never use and to apply a new screen protector on the phone. The case broke in two places, one by the charging port and one by mute switch where the case is really thin. While I love leather cases they don't seem to be overly durable if you take your case on an off with any frequency. It feels like everytime I start getting the patina to develop how I like my case breaks. I only take it off like once a month so I feel like it should be able to last longer. So for now I'm back in my ESR case until I decide if I'm going to order another LC or just give up on leather. I guess thats one plus for the open bottom leather cases out there is not having that weak part that goes around the charge port.

Whenever this happens it makes me miss the old days of my Motorola flip phones ( Startac, Timeport, Razr, V60, etc ) that I used for ages with no case and never worried about them. If I coudl get the old Razr phone with modern internals I'd do it so fast..... sigh

I noticed that mine looks like it has a tiny crack on the charging port area too. I think someone mentioned their LC broke the same way yours did and their customer service sent them a new one.

Dang man, sorry to hear that. Freaking sucks, I know the patina process takes so much time, and to lose that sucks. Hopefully CS can help you out. I know that might be a weak point, but it shouldn’t snap in half.

Have you tried compressed air? Rather than taking it completely off, just spray it well? That’s what I do. I worry about the CC cutout on the 16 pros, so I try not taking it off much.

Also, open bottom wouldn’t be a bad way to go if you do want to take it off sometimes.

I can't even find any way to contact them. I'm in Canada and their listing on Amazon.ca says the warranty may not apply in Canada... whatever that means. I followed Amazon's instructions to try and initiate a warranty claim but the button they say I need doesn't exist on the site. I'm not going to sweat it though. I mean realistically I could buy it two more times and still be spending less than one Bullstrap. Its like $30CAD to order another so no biggie and I see they now offer a open bottom version on the 15. Might pick one up... Not sure.

I've been through this a few times on this phone now and I feel like I'm a bit cursed. My first leather case on the phone was the Keyway. After 4 months the patina was stunning but the phone fell out of my hand getting out of my car and landed in a puddle of melted snow. The case soaked up the water around the "X" logo and stained the leather. A week or so later the case broke in the same spot. So then I bought the Nomad... which was a decent case but the leather didn't patina, it just got really dull and dirty so I gave up on that. Thats when I got the LC and it was aging so beautifully and it broke. Do I really want to do this all again?

Isn’t the patina worth it? To me it is. You could get the closed bottom and try the open bottom as well. Like you said, they are cheap the LC. You almost couldn’t get any other case that cheap.
 
Wealth client of mine came in today rocking the iPhone X with the apple saddle brown leather on it. It was like seeing your celebrity crush in the flesh. I was tempted to ask if I could take a pic 😂 it was immaculate.

A coworker of mine is still rocking the iPhone XS with the saddle brown case. I remember when they bought it in 2019. They've since retired but I just saw them last month and they were still using that case/phone. It looked amazing (obviously). I wanted to try and sneak a pic but didn't wanna be a creep lol.

How much longer can those phones hold out? There are only a few left. My brother was rocking my X with the saddle brown case up until 2023. I think he had beaten the case up pretty good, but it had an amazing patina. I will see if he still has it. Would love to get some pictures.

That would be awesome! Wish I held onto my phones and cases just for nostalgia.
