Absolutely gorgeous. I love the ocean. My son has it on his but it’s gorgeous on the white iPhone (which is what I have). May consider getting this when the cc button comes out!

I don’t find the cutout obtrusive.. but when I was using the silicone case while waiting for the leather case I used my right thumb to hit the button to launch the camera. Now I find I have to use my left index finger to use the button with the cutout. I’ve gotten used to it but I’ll probably pick up the camera control version when they release it

I am really not sure why the CC button is just a big deal. I hardly use the button, and the cutout is just fine. When I used the Apple’s case when I first got my 16 Pro, I accidentally hit the button all the time. I think the cutout works better to stop that. I mainly use the button to open the camera app, or to use visual intelligence. That’s it.

I open the camera that way all the time now. I mentioned it on Reddit but when I was using the Apple Silicon case I was able to use my thumb on my right hand to open up the camera- it was really easy (oh and you can set the settings to double click to open the camera with that button if you find you’re accidentally hitting it more with the cc button case).

Ever since I got the cut out, I have to adjust and open it with my left index finger. I’ve gotten used to it. Not going to lie it probably would be nice to have the button integrated in. I also mentioned on Reddit it’s just like the action button on the iPhone 15. It was open for a while because of the mute toggle switch on the prior iPhones, and whereas it was usable, it still wasn’t ideal. I think the camera button will be more ideal, even though this cutout is just fine as well- definitely not a deal breaker by any means.. It’ll just be a little bit of the icing on the cake if you will.😁

Unless Ryan London has done a complete redesign on the closed bottom case, this is far from the best leather case. Their open bottom is far better as well as the entire BS lineup.
I tried one before and liked it. I know a lot of people prefer the open bottom version but I’m just happy some company is finally releasing a leather case with camera control button.

Yeah just not a huge deal, and it’s still not available on the best leather cases.

It’s for sure fine, but certainly not one of the best. I still don’t understand the huge need. I would rather pick a case that checks all the boxes that doesn’t have the CC button, than wait for one that’s not as great with the CC. Plus leather cases have the patina aspect, which sucks to start over after using a case for while.

Same. Like I said it’s not bad with the cutout. It’ll just be icing on the cake when they come out with it though.

Will just get the black and ocean again 😂 don’t feel the need to change the colors

Totally agree. As you said RL bottom closed is far from being the best leather case. Fitment problems and a “just okay” leather feeling, still prefer those good quality leather cases ( Bullstrap Lineup, Alex Goldfinch or RL open bottom) without de cc button. For me is not a big deal either, I would prefer a button there? Could be. Would I sacrifice anything for having that button? No way.

Yep! The button isn’t worth the sacrifice! Honestly, if the phone didn’t have the button at all I would be just as happy. To me it was a bit needless, so my leather case sure doesn’t have to have a button.

I agree with this. I prefer the quality of my case over my husbands Ryan London.

I assume they use a case like ANDAR does, and it’s oil waxed leather. It feels like plastic, and it’s a very similar patina to the Apple leather cases from 12-14. Not my cup of tea. I would like to see if they slim downed the button version though. Like many have said here, the button added thickness to these already rather thick leather cases having to support the cutout. If they can slim them down with a button, I will for sure be in support.

We def shall see! My husband wants to wait until Bullstrap releases theirs so we get the button versions all at the same time. It’ll be interesting to see how they change things this year

I have only had the Apple silicone and now the nomad traditional, both are exactly the same size all round.
So all these other leather cases are thicker?

Thicker than Apple silicone, definitely , this is just unbeatable, if only does not destroys itself in 2 months…. But they are marginally thicker, it’s not a decisive factor at all. They are still quite thin.

Last open bottom leather case I had phone fell on the steel seat rail in my car put a dint in the bottom of the phone, 7 plus with apple leather. Would do more damage now phones being all glass.

Sorry to hear that, I don’t know if I understood right the procees of that dint (sorry English is not my mother tongue) and I don’t know how that cases were made, but nowadays, Bullstrap, AlexGoldfinch and Ryan London, open cases they protrude on the bottom part enough that if the iPhone falls down that part do not touch the floor. They only thing that can actually damage the iPhone is if the phone fells on a big irregular surface ( I had quite concrete impacts, and all well)

Extra tip: I always put a hidrogel film to protect the edges, but just on the bottom part of the phone that remains uncovered, so I’m also covered from scratches, works like a charm for me.

Ive been saying this for ages, I can’ t stand when reviewers praise the “leather feeling” of Andar or Ryan London ( bottom closed) or Decoded ( an European brand) and as you said they just feel like plastic and they do not get a good patina over time.

I’ve spent hundreds, just beacause reviewers said “nice Leather feeling” looking for that leather feeling and then just it wasn’t.

For the cases I’ve tested, nomad, RL, andar, Luckycoin, Alex Goldfinch, Decoded, mujo(another crap case IMO), Lonli, and torro.
1. Alex Goldfinch
2. Bullstrap
Both quite similar actually.

3. RL open bottom
4. Lucky Coin
(Still decent, just not as good as 2 first IMO)

And the rest just feel plastic, or hard leather or something strange.
Good list.

For me, RL open bottom takes the cake over bullstrap. Especially this year as BS is much thicker than RL (or enough to be noticeable).

These reviewers are getting paid in a sponsorship, so I think they will always say good things.

I am with you mostly on the ratings, though I haven’t tried Alex Goldfinch (don’t love the logo on the back), but I would swap Bullstrap and RL (open bottom). For me on the 16 pro versions the Ryan London has patinaed a bit nicer than the Bullstrap.

1. Ryan London open bottom
2. Bullstrap (very close because they have so many colors).
3. Luckycoin

Could be, maybe I had bad luck or bad unit but RL didn’t impress me in the past, to be fair I’ve not tested this year cases. I have 15pro max experience. This year I founded an European company (Alex Goldfinch) try them, they really gave me that Bullstrap vibe (without paying shipping and customs) really liked them and settle down haha.

Are you talking about RL open bottom or closed (or both) that are noticeable thinner than Bullstrap?
Open. This year BS switched up a bit, previous years I definitely thought they were closer to eachother.
