Sorry to hear that, I don’t know if I understood right the procees of that dint (sorry English is not my mother tongue) and I don’t know how that cases were made, but nowadays, Bullstrap, AlexGoldfinch and Ryan London, open cases they protrude on the bottom part enough that if the iPhone falls down that part do not touch the floor. They only thing that can actually damage the iPhone is if the phone fells on a big irregular surface ( I had quite concrete impacts, and all well)Last open bottom leather case I had phone fell on the steel seat rail in my car put a dint in the bottom of the phone, 7 plus with apple leather. Would do more damage now phones being all glass.
Extra tip: I always put a hidrogel film to protect the edges, but just on the bottom part of the phone that remains uncovered, so I’m also covered from scratches, works like a charm for me.
