The new Lucky Coin is unsurprisingly the same style as Bullstrap… not for me!

I find it surprising how many people dislike this case. I much prefer this to the ones where the entire plateau is a cut-out, that looks hideous to me. This looks great.

Nomad Traditional case in Black Horween Leather:

I notice that when I set the phone screen down next to me on the couch that when I pick it up, I sometimes activate the camera control button with my finger. Hopefully will stop once I get used to the case. Other than that, no complaints- the case is beautiful and the leather feels great.

Quoting myself here. After inadvertently clicking on the camera control button a number of times today, I remembered that there is a setting that lets you setup a double click to activate the camera. Now my problem has been solved.

Nomad Traditional case in Black Horween Leather:

This is my first case with a camera control button (the cases I used on my 16 pro all had cutouts). Hopefully will stop once I get used to the case. Other than that, no complaints- the case is beautiful and the leather feels great.

This is the same combo I am going with too. I just ordered the black horween traditional for my 17PM. Now it’s just a waiting game for the phone to ship in October 😭

Same here, seems to have shipped today. Bit sad about the CC button as I liked the wide opening on the earlier 16 PM Nomad case, which worked perfectly. As the CC button on Apples silicon works okay, I hope for the best.
I usually go for bullstrap or Ryan London but the former looks hideous this year and RL was not available.

Ryan London’s black leather case compliments the cosmic orange nicely in my opinion. Took a few quick pictures. Loving the orange accents around the phone in the front. Just the little things what win me over with this combination. Once the honey moon stage wears off, I’m going to be rocking this iPhone with no case most the time

Ryan London’s black leather case really makes the cosmic orange pop, don’t you think? I snapped a few quick shots. I’m totally loving those orange accents around the phone in the front, those little details are what really make this combo shine! Once the honeymoon phase is over, I’m probably going to be rocking this iPhone without a case most of the time because it’s a beautiful color to hide. Sheesh!
Looks awesome. I’ve got the exact same one on order for my blue pro max. Should hopefully arrive next week!

ended up returning my Andar case for the air. I think I want to get one with an open bottom. Also the dark brown didn’t go well with the light blue color. I’m wondering if a leather case is the best choice in general as it does add some bulk that other cases don’t.

I’m still trying to decide between Pitaka Sunset and a leather case from Ryan London or Bluebonnet. If anyone knows the weight of these leather cases for the Air please let me know.

I prefer the look of the Bluebonnet with wrapped camera bezels but the cost of shipping and returning if necessary is putting me off ordering.

Does anyone have any experience with Luckycoin’s camera control button? Does it work well? Is the quality of it in the case good?

Which leather cases have open bottoms?

When purchasing a Ryan London case from the United States, has anybody had to pay import fees to customs due to the new tariffs?

I previously enquired about open bottom cases for the regular 17 and this was their response:

Hi XXXX,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our iPhone 17 cases. We truly appreciate your interest in our products and your enthusiasm for our offerings.

I’m pleased to inform you that we do indeed have plans to introduce an open-bottomed case, similar to the Air case, in our collection. This design is expected to be available by November, and we believe it will be a fantastic addition to our range. We are excited about it and hope you will be too!

If you have any further questions or if there’s anything else I can assist you with, please don’t hesitate to let me know. You can also keep an eye on our website for updates and new releases: RYAN London.

Best Regards,
Veronica

I think someone else also asked about open bottom cases for the Pros and had a similar response.

I just ordered their Black case for my Deep Blue Pro. No import fees, no tax, free shipping. I think $65.45 USD all in (after promo code) for a case of this quality is a fair deal. I have been a Bullstrap guy on my past few phones, but am unsure about their design and price point this time around.

I went with the bullstrap instead because they have the open bottom

Been using this Decoded Ghost Blue case since Friday. Great case. Feels very good in the hand. It also looks good.

Contrary to the warnings provided by Apple, the Aluminum camera bump cover has not impeded functionality or signal strength in any material way. I tested it by taking the case on and off in different locations to see if the number of bars changed. I have dual sims on Verizon and TMobile and neither showed a change in signal strength with the case off.

I am sure covering it with a stronger RF inhibitor like Carbon Fiber may have an effect, but this had no measurable impact as far as I can tell. I am pleased with the choice.

I wish Decoded hadn’t put their logo so prominently on the back, otherwise I may have tried one.

FYI, if you are going to test signal strength with the case, I would do it in a place that has bad strength and then again in a place with good strength. (Maybe that’s how you did it?).

I remember doing something like this way back in the day with one of my android phones in an aluminum bumper case. In areas of good reception, there wasn’t much if any difference. But in areas of bad reception (I.e., 1 bar), that is where you would notice the difference that the case made.

Modern tech being what it is, my hunch is that you still won’t see any difference with the Decoded case.

Damn. Looks like I’ll be sending this one back. Not a fan of how light that blue is.

Edit: I don’t see ghost blue as an option. Do you mean navy shadow?

I think it's the photo lighting. It's pretty dark.

Agree. When someone offers a similar case design with no logo or a more subtle logo I will switch it out. I already messaged bandwerk. They have a logo but a nice logo.

My house is a 1 bar to zero bar reception area on both networks. On AT&T I get no signal at all. But I have the same bars and same user experience on cellular with WiFi off.

There obviously has some impact from the case, but as said it is negligible even in a low signal situation.
