is this the 17 pro or pro max? Does it weigh a lot?

So far the Lonli Edition is looking great and checks all the boxes I prefer: metal buttons, closed bottom, camera button, leather camera lip, full plateau exposure.
I returned mine and now waiting for the Bluebonnet version. The Edition's leather was too soft, felt like it was either coated or just not the type of leather I want. I'm looking for something that closely resembles a "harder" leather if that makes any sense, kind of like what you would see in a decent wallet.

That makes sense. I tried LC but didn’t like it felt it was too dry and while the partially covered plateau wasn’t as bad as I thought I don’t like that my phone looked like a 16 pro.

To be honest there probably isn’t currently a case that is jack of all trades they all seem to have concessions

The bluebonnet looks pretty nice with speaker holes and leather camera lip and full plateau and all but I’m not ready to spend close to $100 and a hassle return policy if I don’t like it.

I guess if all else fails I could try another LC maybe the lighter one than the dark brown I had but with 16 plus I had some that were ashy for lack of a better description and flaky. My dark brown wasn’t as bad where flakes were falling off with some 16+ ones I returned (I eventually found a black LC one for that phone that felt great and I used a lot but it took luck and a couple tries)

YMW looks kinda nice but I dunno that too would be a hassle if I don’t like it and will take a few weeks from Ali.

Convenient return policy is key since I’m picky

I think I’m gonna try the azure blue lonli though and see how it works out

As far as BS goes, I’m good. And I like Ryan London stuff but I don’t like metal camera rings or open bottom all that much especially on the dark blue 17 pro where I want it more protected and again hassle to return and wait of a few weeks

This is on the iPhone 17 Pro. I don’t have a scale.. it is heavier than the Nomad modern duraback but I don’t think it’s too much.

The buttons are perfect except the camera control button feels cheap (sticks out, “rattles”). The corners of the case pop off the phone a little too easy.

Overall ya like it / keeping it?

The color looks neat!

I really love the color.. I don’t see any other cases with a blue like this. I have a problem with the fit though which makes me not want to keep it.. the corners of the case push off the phone too easy. If it weren’t for that I would keep it. Anyone else that had the LONLI Edition case - was yours like that too?

I can let you know when I get mine, that may come to QC variation.
@F308gt4 can you chime in on this one, and are you still liking yours? Sounds like from the last comment, you do.

And I agree, the Azure Blue is nice. It's hard to find fun funky colors on the lower priced offerings.

I got the Lonli Edition in Blue and Saddle as well as the Classic in green (all of which I returned). None were especially loose on the corners that I recall, but they weren’t nearly as snug and well fitting as the Lucky Coin which wraps around the curved sides much more than the more flat sides of the Lonli cases. The details just weren’t as polished either—the camera control buttons were a bit loose/rattly and I could feel a sharp edge of the button bezel sticking out a bit if I ran my finger over the button. The LC has a nice tight button with a very slightly recessed button. The cutouts were a little less crisp/defined on the Lonli cases, and I like how the leather is slightly rounded into each cutout (hard to explain this one, but refer to each photo).

The dealbreaker for me was how much fatter (for lack of a better word) the Lonli cases felt to me. I also personally didn’t love the leather. The LC cases come dry and definitely need some conditioner/oil, but once they start to break in they have a very nice top grain feel to them—smooth, slightly grippy, not sticky or too slick, and hard wearing/self healing.

I’m hoping my Blue Bonnet is all the things the LC is but with a fully open camera plateau cutout.

You can see some fit/finish quality between the LC (left) and Lonli Edition (right) just in this one photo of both bottoms:

I actually liked the leather a bit better on the Lonli Classic I got before I found out the metal ring could effect signal strength. It slowed my phone down significantly in one area I tested it in (like almost 8x slower on a speed test). Needless to say, that was a no-go for me.

But I think the Classic was actually finished slightly better than the two editions I got and returned.

These looks like they could be cool. Not my type, but the "Patina Dyed" are pretty unique looking.

Wow, what a cool video! I might get one of their undyed ones since undyed veg tanned leather can look amazing once it patinas.

Or maybe I’ll get one to indigo dye myself 🤔

You’ve cracked open a potentially dangerous rabbit hole of case possibilities for me—I just can’t believe how much craftsmanship goes into these for the same cost as mass-produced plastic core “premium” leather cases. This is even more evidence for what a rip off Bullstrap and the various other high priced ones are (which I fell for with Blue Bonnet, for example).

No issues with the fit on mine. There is a little play by the chargeport cutout, but my Nomad traditional is similar. The leather on the Nomad (horween) is a little nicer. The leather on the Lonli Edition is very similar to the Alex Goldfinch case I had for my 16 pro. I’ve treated it a few times with leather conditioner, which I think makes it feel better and also gives it a nice leather smell.

The Lonli is bulkier for sure, as it has a fairly deep lip around the screen and also around the cameras. I don’t mind the thickness and have been using this one over the Nomad for the last few weeks.

Re: leather quality- I wonder if the color of the leather could account for some of the differences that people have observed, or maybe it’s batch to batch variation?

I’m tempted to try the Lucky Coin, but I don’t love the covered plateau design. I really do like the way Lonli edition does it, and is the primary reason why I am using that over the Nomad. The bluebonnet only comes in that one color, so that’s a no go for me (I prefer black or dark blue). Also, the company seems a bit shady from the posts I’m seeing here, and I don’t love the price. Perhaps if it was a lot cheaper, I would consider getting it and re-dyeing the leather to black or dark blue (I did that last year with a Nomad case- you can probably find my posts/pic in this thread if you search).

Yeah it’s really cool. The amount of work that goes into it for such low price is insane. My concern though would be how precise the fit is and how the buttons feel seeing as it’s all hand made like that.

I had the same concerns. I also wonder how the fit would fare over time, and whether it would loosen up as it ages.

I may be game to guinea pig an undyed one. Have you seen any reviews or writeups of anyone whose tried them?

The fit seems fine on mine, corners, etc.
Camera button protrudes out slightly but not as bad as I was expecting / don't think it's a deal breaker as long as it doesn't fall apart or anything. The LC I had was recessed a bit, only seems OEM are completely flush. I think my Spigen Magfit T is slightly recessed as well.

The inner felt seems perfectly cut on the inner portion of leather camera lip that I can see, and the vol/power buttons are clicky - clicker than LC that was almost slightly recessed with the leather (that was the way my LC was for 16+ as well).

The Azure Blue is a nice color! My initial impressions are good :)

Glad to hear yours is up to par! I think I’ll try and see if I can exchange for a better fitting copy. The buttons and the blue are super nice.

I haven't seen much about them. I only found them on Reddit because someone was asking about them, but of course no one had experience with them lol.

This looks very subtly different than the Lonli, especially the thickness (or lack thereof) on the edges of the camera lip. This has me hopeful that it’s less of a chunker… The Lonli just felt too big for my liking—that and the more processed looking/feeling leather (very soft/almost squishy) meant I ended up returning both blue and saddle.

Any chance you could take some profile photos, maybe with any other cases you might have? I’m really hoping it’s as thin or thinner than my LC 🤞🏼 also, I’m curious how the cutouts/buttons look. LC is at least as nice as any others I’ve seen so far (better than most).

The Lucky Coin case is starting to show some patina after 3 weeks. Im hoping the rest of the case balances out with the darkening corners over time since it’s more rounded than the last several generations. We shall see!

Thickness is hard to capture well, but the Lonli felt much thicker than this photo makes it look like:

Sorry I haven’t had a chance to take any additional photos. I’ll try to get some posted tomorrow. I will say, it feels slimmer and sleeker than the only other case I own, Spigen Thin Fit

[QUOTE="Lyn This looks great. I went to order one but found they don’t offer that beautiful colour for the Air. Shame on you Andar.[/QUOTE]

Hate when companies do that!!!

Question for closed bottom folks: Do you find the cases to be susceptible to breakage when removing them, particularly around the USB port where the case gets very thin? I’ve been an open bottom leather case user for years (Bullstrap) and just got my first closed bottom case, a Nomad Modern Leather. It was a tight fit so the first time I removed it I tried to be as gentle as possible, and it still split above the USB port. Nomad has graciously agreed to replace it, but I’m leery of this being a recurring issue. Thoughts?

Glad they are replacing it. I always remove cases from the top to try and avoid stress on the weak points. Basically holding the case by the top corners and pushing in on the plateau.
