Looks like a pretty cool 13" Android/Windows tablet.
How well it actually works and feels I don't know.

Wondering, how good are the best pico projectors these days?

This is like Andy Kaufmann creating a role and then refusing to break character. He can't really think this is his project.

And a Pico projector? Does this tablet have some way of keeping the picture still while holding it? Or do you have to put it down and not bump it when projecting?

Some cringe-worthy pieces (emphases mine)

I think a lot of people think this process is, “What you can put in the box?” But a lot of times it is about what you don’t put in the box.

With the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro we took it a step further and realized we needed to make this a great entertainment device. We wanted to build a tablet with the best sound of any tablet in the world—we fit in a subwoofer and an 8-watt speaker. No need for Bluetooth speakers or setting your phone in a cup—it just works.

So that’s all in the Yoga Tablet 2 Pro tablet, right? But there’s also a new Yoga 3 Pro? All these Yoga names are very confusing. Have you thought about fixing that?

I refer to it as the tablet with a projector. I get what you are saying, the Yoga line of product is a holistic line about the flexibility of the device. Think of how many Macs Apple had! This is our version of the i-this and the i-that.

I will be really surprised if they launch anything that approaches what we have here.
Well, you're right about that, they won't have anything that approaches what you have. You don't approach something when you're already way out in front of it.

Does he not realize the "i-this and i-that" have different names? iPhone, iPad, iPod ... and then there are simple descriptive adjectives to differentiate the models like Mini, Plus, Touch. Yoga 2 Pro vs Yoga 3 Pro doesn't tell me much (at least when they're both released at the same time). The interviewer is right, you should fix that!

I have to wonder if he looks at his Apple devices and thinks he could have designed them?

From the Lenovo YOGA press release:

The YOGA Tablet 2 Pro makes users’ lives easier in other ways too with a fourth mode – Hang. Now users can interact with the tablet in a new way by hanging it anywhere they want. They can also continue to enjoy the other three original modes: Hold for better angles for reading, Tilt for easily browsing online and Stand for close up content from digital libraries. While loaded with lots of useful features that adapt to user’s lifestyles, the Platinum-colored tablet remains thin and light at just 3.7mm thin and 950 grams.

Not sure I'd want any of those words associated with a tablet.

Oh, and here's the YOGA 2 product video on YouTube

In related news, Apple's lead iPad product engineer Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister) will take the stage next week to introduce new iPads.

Industry insiders familiar with Apple's supply chain predict the new iPads will feature an entirely new design made of dragon glass and Valyrian steel. Suppliers just missed the iPhone production deadline but are on board for a Valyrian steel iPad chassis. "Valyrian steel is impossible to bend without the proper spells," states Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen), "production of the Valyrian steel iPads requires dragonfire, so as you can imagine the process is a bit of a challenge. I was honored to help Nikolaj tame the dragons and bring these incredible iPads to market."

I thought Apple's Mantra was "Think Different", yet everyone on here thinks the same, same phone, same tablet, same MacBook.

Thank God there are companies that think different to Apple and actually do some innovation. I've played around with a couple of these tablets and they're pretty good, a bit slow, but these should be quite a bit faster

I've got 2 iPads, an Apple TV, a Mac Mini, a HTC One X, a Windows 7 Notebook, 2 Windows 10 computers and a couple of Windows 8 computers.

That's what you call thinking different.

I'm lined up already, take my money.

LG FRANCE who tweet the ad of LG phone that their phone is not bending but flexible HE TWEETED IT VIA TWITTER FOR IPHONE

Ashton aside, It actually isn't as bad as everyone is making out. Im sure if it were a standard lenovo product release it wouldn't get as much hate.

I love apple products and own several but the ipad isnt for me. I bought one recently and took it back as it was missing several of the features that this has.

No stand - You can buy a case but it should have a stand. A product of this type shouldn't require more investment to make its main functions more useful. The amount of times i attempted and failed to prop it up to watch a movie was ridiculous.

Speakers - lets be honest the speakers are useless. I want to play music at a reasonable level without external speakers.

Battery life, how easy it is to hold the thing for extended periods of time... etc

If apple fixed these issues the ipad would be a great tablet but they haven't and its not. And why? because people think they want a thin industrial looking device rather than one that works to its full potential.

Shm

Ashton must think since he got to play Steve in a movie, he can play Jobs in real life. Typical actor...they think once they do enough research about their character, they start picking up things and imitating them. This is actually very funny, haven't laughed this hard in awhile, time to wake up Ashton, the Jobs movie is over and it's 2014 now, DUDE, YOU ARE NOT AN ENGINEER!

Home use with a projector

It seems odd that this is a device for home use and yet it has a projector. It would seem that that many people into high end tech would have a TV.

it's got a kickstand, yo

"I will be really surprised if they launch anything that approaches [this awesome kickstand] we have here."

I see some similarities with iOS 7 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc3...: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zc3G_63ElGA)

Hey Ashton & Lenovo. Maybe you guys will start to be taken seriously when you talk if you could ship even a 10th of the number of tablets that Apple does annually.

At Lenovo:
Product Engineer = "Celebrity" Spokesperson

You know who else was a product engineer?

Homer Simpson and we all know what happened to his brother's auto company.

I have no idea why they are saying portability isn't a major concern. Both of my parents switched off their iPad 3's because of how much lighter the air felt, and they only use it on the couch.

While I have no doubt the 12inch screen and better audio is nice, I think they may be underestimating the power of something being lightweight/portable.

Karl P

This is hilarious! Lenovo hired Ashton Kutcher to help them build a product for the American market and he forgot to tell them that unlike China, most Americans already have large screen TVs for entertainment and that Apple figured out how to "project" content with AirPlay.

Well, I sure wouldn't mind if the iPad got more professional level features....

Still, all manufactures you know that the iPad is the heavy hitter in this industry. But with the advanced features in this tablet, I think they are targeting a different niche market.
